nah, it's for the food🙂...plus river fish are pretty gross, so people mostly catch them just for kicks since nobody actually wants to eat 'em😂

I know some people practice catch-and-release, but honestly, I still find it kind of cruel since they're being hooked in the first place.

Man, I don't know, if there was some way to catch fish without even needing a hook, while still getting that awesome thrill of the chase at the same time, I’d probably be using that method all day long... I guess.

I was wondering if anyone here has been hitting the trout streams lately and could give me the lowdown on how the water is looking... I'm planning on heading out there soon!

So, I’m jumping in on this topic too... my boyfriend and I started fishing just for kicks, but now it’s become a bit of an obsession. We’re constantly counting down the days until we have some free time to head out to the coast... we fish right from the shore. I'm also just waiting for this month's paycheck to hit so I can finally pick up a new lure and some better gear. Man, I need that direct deposit to land already...

Watch your wallet, seriously. Once things start moving, it’s hard to pull back. I know myself—one minute you're buying this, then you're spending on that... all those different systems and whatnot, money just disappears like a magic trick. But hey, if it pays off, it pays off!

Just be careful about what you buy because our market is flooded with junk. It doesn’t necessarily have to be high-end or incredibly expensive, especially if you aren't fishing professionally. If you need any advice, let me know—I know my stuff, considering I've won the World Surf League Championship twice. Once you get hooked on this, there's no turning back!! Plus, there are perks; I've traveled through a good chunk of Europe and caught some amazing fish all over the world.

Count me in on this thread too. I’m obsessed with sport fishing—especially casting with a pendulum setup. But when the weather turns sour or the season shifts, I just switch over to bottom fishing.

I'm part of a club and I compete in tournaments. Saltwater fishing is my specialty, for sure!
