I won't drag this out too much—I took about thirty 5mg Normabals, and I won't even get started on the liters of alcohol I downed beforehand... Look, I don't need a psychiatrist; I am not "mentally ill" or anything like that, and frankly, I don't need any help from those institutions because they'll just drive you even more insane. This was a breaking point—or more accurately, a complete breakdown. I slept for 28 hours straight, though I did wake up a few times before drifting right back under. No, thank you—I don't want an ER visit or a stomach pump; I’m just incredibly intoxicated and I can't talk or walk properly. Even a cold shower isn't doing anything; I managed to eat a tiny bit, but for the most part, I just can't function. I just want to get rid of these damn symptoms. Before anyone starts judging me, please don't—I'm telling you, after everything I've been through, I did what I did. No, I don't have suicidal thoughts; I just wanted to sleep off this wretched New Year and stop thinking about everything. Thanks in advance.

The only way to clear those symptoms is to head to the ER and ask for Flumazenil. It acts as an antidote for benzodiazepines, which is the class Klonopin belongs to. You really shouldn't mess around with Klonopin combined with alcohol; it can cause asphyxiation, meaning you could actually stop breathing because it paralyzes your respiratory center.

Home remedies aren't going to do much here.

For someone capable of knocking back 30 mg Normabals and a whole liter of booze, it’s honestly hard to believe they aren't having suicidal thoughts...

I just had to point it out.☕

Yes—you need a doctor. And you need the ER. You took 30 mg of Normabrel plus liters of alcohol on purpose. That wasn't an accident.
You also need to talk to a psychiatrist. That doesn't mean you're mentally ill. But you aren't okay right now.
You aren't just drunk; you're poisoned. Yeah, things could still go wrong, even after some time has passed.
Go to the doctor.

Ugh, this is just awful... I honestly thought maybe something like this might actually help. It was during New Year's Eve—I had a few drinks, but it wasn’t like I was trying to mix them with pills on purpose or anything. But fine, whatever—I guess I have no one to blame but myself.

Quidquid ID est, this approach isn't going to solve anything. That's her business. She made it clear she won't see a psychiatrist, and under US law, forcing that kind of treatment on someone is considered an intolerable violation.

That’s why I’m suggesting again that Nina reach out to a doctor as soon as possible.

One more little side note to support my argument for medical intervention: benzodiazepines store themselves in fatty tissue. This means every time you lose weight, they get released back into your bloodstream. If that Normabel isn't cleared from her system now, there could be serious consequences. Plus, the liver doesn't forget; it holds onto every mistake we put it through.

So...

She went on a whole rant. She said "No, thank you" at least four times in her post, but the biggest red flags are her refusing both a therapist and the ER.
Now she’s looking for advice on drinking tomato juice after knocking back thirty shots and several liters of booze.
Look, it’s not about judging her. If she actually wants help, that’s the only real help we can offer. But she made it clear: no doctors, period—not just no psychiatrists, but no medical professionals at all. 🤷

Yes, I am. No, I don't want a psychiatrist who is just going to shovel a hundred different pills down my throat just to get me off whatever I'm on... and I won't go to the ER because they'll just label me as "suicidal" and march me straight into a psych ward... that's the whole issue, nothing else. If I should have thought about this sooner, I agree, but again, I have my reasons. If there isn't any "home remedy" for this—fine, then I guess everything will just clear itself out in a few days.

Just make sure you don't wait too long to try those home remedies.

Look, I know I need a doctor. But what am I supposed to tell you guys? That I've hit rock bottom? All I have is my mom, and she’d probably pass out if she found out what I’ve done to myself. It's sad, but it's the truth. I don't want to dump all this worry on her just because I was an idiot and did what I did.

If I had taken that many pills along with all that alcohol, there’s no way I could have typed out a coherent post... then again, maybe some people just have a higher tolerance for booze 😁

ps. So, you slept for 48 hours? Just hang in there. Unless something truly serious happened, things should be fine 😕

I think your mom would actually faint before you even ended up on dialysis or in a coma in the ICU.

Look, your body, your choice.
I don't know, nobody at the ER can force you into psych care. You get a referral and go on your own terms. Unless you're acting completely unhinged at the hospital, which you won't be.
Just say you made a mistake and leave it at that. Stop worrying about what they think and focus on helping yourself. If you truly didn't intend to end it, prove it to yourself by seeing a doctor.
Neither you nor anyone else knows how much damage you've done or what the fallout will be. Personally, I'd go just out of fear for my own life.
Your mom doesn't need to know. Don't tell her if you aren't ready.
Like Eric Wright29 said, don't wait until it's too late. If something happens and an ambulance ends up at your door, that's when your mom finds out.

If I had to guess, Olivia Cooper27, you’re still in your rebellious teenage phase?

If that's the case, then everything makes perfect sense to me.

So far, nothing has happened except for me sleeping through most of this—which I’m praying stays the case... though hope is a damn liar. Regardless, I’m going to call someone right now and head to the ER. Thanks for all the advice, whether it was helpful or not. 🙂

Look, it's not that bad. What they give you will make you feel much better than anything you could take on your own right now.
Even if nothing happens in the next 72 hours, any damage already done can catch up to you later, just when you've stopped expecting anything.
Good luck. 🙂

Hahaha, honestly, I was half-expecting someone to jump in and say, "No, actually, I'm a fully grown 23-year-old."👍

Nice to meet you. If we happen to run into each other at some coffee shop where us 23-year-olds hang out, I just hope you won't try to pull a fast one on me by serving me a cheap domestic lager instead of a decent craft beer. 😂.

Good luck, kiddo.
