Quick question for you guys! I couldn't find anything about this in the existing threads, so I figured I’d just start a new one.

So, for about three months now, I’ve noticed this little lump right above my abdomen—like, dead center, just under my ribcage. You can really feel it if you’re lying down. It doesn't actually hurt or anything, but honestly? It's starting to freak me out a little. Also, full disclosure, I am a smoker. I don't know if there's even a connection there, but I'm wondering...

You absolutely have to get every lump checked out. And I’m not talking about just doing a quick self-exam at home—I mean actually seeing a specialist.
You honestly never know what a lump actually signifies until it's properly investigated by a pro.
I actually have a family situation that illustrates this perfectly—a doctor performed nothing more than a manual palpation (using a flashlight 🙄) and concluded it was a benign tumor (located just above the abdominal cavity, for context), then simply scheduled the patient for a routine procedure three months down the line.
In the meantime, they went to a second opinion, got an ultrasound, followed up with a CT scan, then a biopsy, and finally surgery—only to find out it was malignant (thankfully caught "in time").
So, while it could truly be nothing (which is what I'm hoping is the case for you), it could also, God forbid, be something much more serious.

It’s probably just a lipoma. But regardless, you should go get an ultrasound. If they see anything suspicious, they'll run a biopsy and a pathology report, which will give you a clear answer.

Just try not to panic. It's likely nothing.
