Bleeding side effects from Metronidazole?

I’ve started experiencing vaginal bleeding after taking metronidazole. Is this something I should be genuinely concerned about? Has anyone else dealt with similar side effects?

First off, it’s a bit fuzzy which kind of metronidazole was actually being used—was it the pills, an IV drip, or those vaginal suppositories? Honestly, even if we knew for sure, I really wouldn't say that would be enough to cause any bleeding.

That was me. I was dealing with trichomoniasis and had been prescribed a course of metronidazole tablets and vaginal suppositories. Just a few days after starting the treatment, I suddenly experienced bleeding that looked and felt exactly like a period, even though I was nowhere near my actual cycle. Following my OB-GYN's instructions, I paused the medication until the bleeding stopped. Honestly, I got the impression my doctor wasn't too concerned about it; when I went back in for a follow-up regarding the bleeding, he seemed much more focused on other diagnostic details.
