Best private clinics in Washington, D.C.?

I remember there was a thread here a while back about private clinics and everyone sharing their experiences, but I can't seem to track it down, so I’m starting a new one. Same old question: does anyone have a recommendation for a decent clinic in Washington, D.C.? Ideally somewhere where they aren't trying to pull any fast ones with your money, and where the staff is actually punctual, honest, and polite. I’ve been feeling pretty wound up yesterday and today thanks to some shady dealings over at UnitedHealth Group. If a service is marketed as "all-inclusive," then if they decide to run an extra test that costs more, you should be told upfront—not have the head nurse lecturing you later about how you "should have known" it wasn't covered! It’s incredibly unprofessional—or rather, it's the new trend: grab the cash and run. As Charles Bukowski so eloquently put it... honestly, where do they even find these people? You end up waiting weeks for a single report (which honestly feels no different than using a free public clinic), and every time you call, they just give you the same old "tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow" song and dance. And regarding that argument from the head nurse claiming this isn't some "free systemic checkup"—give me a break. I feel like we actually got a pretty decent deal considering what they offer, if you want to exaggerate it a bit. Honestly, hearing those kinds of excuses just drives me absolutely insane! Don't try to make me out to be the bad guy here; the truth is, for the exact same price, I could have had much faster, far more reliable care from several boutique practices run by specialists like Dr. John Doe or Professor Latin.

Hey, I've mostly dealt with private clinics and solo practitioners, and everything I've done privately has been fine. For me, the best options have been the sun and Dr. Bates. Give them a shot. Cheers!

Based on my own experiences, I’d definitely point you toward Nemetov’s clinic.
The staff there is actually professional and polite, the quality of care is top-tier, the vibe is pleasant, and they’ve been around for over 30 years, so they know what they’re doing.

I wouldn't bother with Sun; they treat patients like they're on some kind of assembly line. They have these strict quotas, so when you walk in, you just feel like another number in their system rather than a human being.
I haven't personally stepped foot in Quest Diagnostics, so I can't give you my two cents, but I’ve heard plenty of both good and bad things about them.

Depends on what you need them for...

I was extremely happy with my MRI at Quest Diagnostics near Salat...

I wouldn't recommend Diagnostic 2000 for an MRI at all... their machine shakes like crazy (obviously making the images blurry) and they rushed through my scan in half the allotted time...

Luckily, that was all I needed from them...

But don't go thinking private clinics are some miracle cure... things are faster, there's no waiting, the service is better, and you won't have students practicing on you—but that's pretty much the extent of it... (here in the States)

I checked their website and saw ultrasound was listed at $83. I tried emailing them to confirm, but they just wouldn't get back to me. When I finally called, the woman on the phone insisted they’d replied, but nope—nothing in my inbox. I even checked my spam folder, but nothing. Anyway, moving on. I showed up for my appointment and the doctor was actually pretty decent—he even cleared up some things the first doctor had, well, let's just say, exaggerated. But when it came time to pay for the ultrasound, instead of $83, she’s asking for $550! I honestly thought I was going to lose it, so I politely pointed out that their website says $250. She just brushed it off with, "Well, the exam and ultrasound are always done together, not separately." 🐔 I really struggled with whether I should be that typical "Karen" type or just stay calm. Since I was paying by card, it ended up being $183 instead of $530. I was worried about looking foolish, especially since my mom had urged me to bring more cash. Honestly, I think it's just rude and dishonest to list a price online and then tack on extra fees to cover their own gaps. If they bundle everything, they should just state that clearly! Long story short, big thumbs down from me—I won't be going back. The doctor seemed a bit unenthusiastic too, though at least he told me I'm healthy
