I’ve been dealing with these sudden hunger pangs at the office lately—it’s actually happening more often than it used to. Weirdly enough, it never happens when I’m at home. What’s the best way to snack when this hits? I’m looking for something healthy that won't cause me to pack on the pounds.
Just a heads-up: I'm strictly craving savory stuff—sweet treats are a total no-go for me!
Honestly, sometimes I just want to grab a slice of deli meat and call it a day... whenever those cravings hit, it's always salt and protein for me, never sugar.

Dealing with thyroid issues means I get hit with these insane hunger pangs and massive crashes if I don't manage it... After dealing with this for about 7 or 8 years, I feel like I’ve pretty much figured out my own body.

Now, I always carry some seeds from places like Whole Foods Market on me—they fill me up fast and they're actually good for you... You can also find various mixes at Walmart, but those often have raisins mixed in, which might not be your thing... Sesame bars are a lifesaver for me; they aren't too salty or sweet, and they hit exactly what my hunger is actually looking for.😉

There are also all those high-fiber cookies out there that are incredibly filling...

I assume they just bloat you up a bit, probably why they work. Either way, they're great and won't break the bank...

What I've realized is that the more I cut out white sugar, the fewer those hunger spikes happen. Usually, when they do hit, I just end up craving something salty anyway...

Hope this helps even a little...

This might sound foolish, but you should probably consult a doctor

Have you tried having an apple? You might actually be low on salt—and I don't mean you're acting crazy. That’s why those electrolyte sports drinks are so useful; plain water doesn't always cut it since sweat is salty. You can just add a pinch of salt to your water and drink that instead.

Since this has been going on for about 7 or 8 years now, I've spent plenty of time researching what actually works, and honestly, I feel like I’ve really learned how my body operates.

Now, I always keep some seeds from those specialty health food stores on me—they're super filling and healthy... You can also find various mixes at Walmart, but they often have raisins mixed in, which might not be your thing... Sesame bars are a lifesaver for me; they aren't too salty or too sweet, and they hit the spot perfectly when the hunger hits.😉

Plus, there are all these different types of high-fiber cookies that are incredibly filling...

I assume they just expand in your gut or something—that's why they work! They're great, and they aren't expensive either...

One thing I've realized is that the more I cut out white sugar, the fewer those intense cravings are—usually, when I do get them, I just end up craving something salty anyway...

You've already helped just by getting it—you clearly know what you're talking about and have actual suggestions. Right now, I'm snacking on some Whole Foods Market sunflower seeds I grabbed from Walmart... I pick up those sesame bars too, they do wonders for me. Those cookies you mentioned—are they from Walmart as well?🙂

Good morning, everyone.

For the last few days, I’ve been dealing with this intense issue in my stomach—I can't tell if it's actual hunger or just pain, but it feels like I haven't eaten in days. It's constant—even when I eat, there's a slight reprieve before it returns. Just now, I had breakfast about 50 minutes ago—four rolls with spread and some coffee—and yet I already feel like I haven't eaten in five hours. When I wake up in the morning (I usually get 7–8 hours of sleep), there's this gnawing sensation or light pain, almost as if I haven't eaten in weeks. I've also noticed my saliva has become extremely watery; it's like spitting out water. Flavors don't seem to linger in my mouth at all—you know how when you eat chocolate, the saliva stays tinted for a bit? That doesn't happen with me. As soon as I swallow, the taste vanishes. I'm 18 and have been smoking for two years. My weight is fine. Has anyone else dealt with something similar?
