Best music production software?

Look, you just can't—and I mean absolutely cannot—strip everything out of a track and leave just one isolated element. It’s physically impossible. The best you can do is try to dial back the other elements, but they're always going to bleed through. You'll still hear them. If you really want that specific sound you're chasing, here's the play: download the track as a MIDI file and grab a DAW like Ableton or Logic. Drop that MIDI into the software, strip away everything except the bassline, and then export it to an MP3 or whatever. That's it. That's the only way. MIDI is designed specifically so you can tweak and edit the individual sounds; every other format is baked together as a single unit. And I am STRESSING that this is not possible any other way. I tend to jump between a few different setups myself: Traktor DJ v2.5 (honestly, 3.0 is a total disaster), FL Studio 4.1, Acoustica MP3 audio mixer, and Reason 3.0.
I stick with Traktor for my mixing—Serato just can't compete with it,
FL Studio is my go-to for actual production since it’s straightforward and comes loaded with effect plugins,
Reason handles my sampling needs,
and I use Acoustica for sampling because I like ripping bits out of tracks to build my own remixes.
That's pretty much the rundown.

And how exactly do you plan on cleaning up or stripping away every single sound in a track except for the bass? Like, seriously? You might manage it, but you aren't getting actual bass—you're just going to end up with muddy low-end hum and some deep, hollow tones. But that’s not what he’s looking for; he wants punchy, real bass. Look, I've been messing around with music for a long time, and as a DJ, I know how this works. I work as a producer. Even with all the gear I have sitting in my studio (not trying to flex here, haha), you just can't clean a track up like that. The only way to get what he wants is through MIDI.
