😕 Every single time I hit the road, especially on a Greyhound bus, my stomach absolutely loses it. It starts bloating, gurgling, and then—boom—I’m sprinting for the restroom. Usually, I deal with loose stools maybe once or twice a day anyway, so this just makes everything a nightmare. Sometimes I barely make it to the stall, and sometimes... well, you know.
Look, I’m pretty popular with women😘, but it’s a total disaster when I’m actually out on a date and suddenly need to evacuate my bowels, even though there's nothing even in there to begin with.
I know, I know—super fun topic, right? But I'm at a loss. I travel constantly for work, which just turns this into a massive headache.
Just to be clear, I never get motion sickness—no dizziness, no puking—not even when I'm hanging out at the beach.
Is there some kind of supplement or specific food that can actually dial this down?
Anyone else dealing with this crap?😕

Maybe you should try taking something to take the edge off?
It’s probably just the adrenaline talking.

Honestly, some deep breathing exercises would probably do you a world of good too.

Maybe give activated charcoal a shot

Yes, activated charcoal—you can pick up those black tablets at any local CVS or Walgreens to deal with diarrhea; dissolving them in water helps them hit your system a bit faster, though I realize it isn't exactly the most appetizing way to take medicine, but it gets the job done when things go south.🙏

I’ve never used anything to calm down, so I have zero clue what you're talking about😕 .

Look, it's pretty obvious those symptoms are just coming from you being worked up and anxious—doesn't matter if it's travel sickness or if you're just losing it over some girl.
Just brew some chamomile tea or something, play a video game, or find any way to stop obsessing. Just distract yourself.

So, anyone else here stuck heading West every single day? Or maybe even twice a day if you're lucky?

Not gonna lie, I'm feeling pretty worked up, even if I don't usually get rattled like this.

Nah, I just go once, first thing in the morning.

Prolife tablets can be quite effective, though I’d suggest running them by a doctor or checking in with a pharmacist first just to be safe.

It seems pretty obvious that things get worse when you can't make it to the bathroom fast enough. It's likely more of a psychological thing, honestly. You might think some calming meds would help, but pills aren't the answer—they just slow everything else down too much. Activated charcoal helps with bloating, diarrhea, and that whole mess. No real side effects, aside from turning your stool dark, but you shouldn't use it constantly since it doesn't distinguish between the good stuff and the bad stuff in your gut; it just grabs everything

For me, it’s basically the main staple in my home medicine cabinet right alongside Advil 😉

Yeah, me too. I’m just not the type of person who sits there waiting until I feel completely empty 😬. Honestly, I’ve always wondered how people manage to get everything done in one single go. Half the time, I can't. My takeaway? Most people probably spend 30 minutes tied up in there, but for me, it’s a five-minute job max. I do what I can, then if I still need to finish up later, I’ll just head back. 😬

I clear everything out, every single time, but it doesn't even last—maybe a minute tops before it starts up again. I’ll try some activated charcoal, maybe some Linex too, and just see what happens.
Thanks for the tips, Walter Myers4, Susan Gonzalez4...
Hopefully this actually works for once.

If not, I'll be back.

it wasn't just you two offering suggestions, after all.😕
Hopefully, this actually does the trick.

If things don't improve, I'll be back.

If you’re hitting the road on a bus, try to snag a seat up front. That engine at the back can really mess with your stomach if you're prone to motion sickness. Also, maybe stick to dry snacks before you head out in the afternoon—bananas are fine, but stay far away from grapes or apples. I’d skip the coffee too. Personally, my digestion goes haywire even in a car, nothing major, just gotta pull over somewhere quiet in the woods... 🤣

The engine's running right under the back, and if you have a sensitive stomach, that vibration can trigger some serious nausea. Personally, my digestive system acts up even in a car, though nothing major; I just pull over somewhere quiet in nature and deal with it... 🤣

If this is all psychological, you could probably eat a bar of dark chocolate and get the same result. It used to happen to me years ago whenever I had to ride my motorcycle to work. Probably just the adrenaline or the nerves. Eventually, it just went away on its own.
I wouldn't suggest relying solely on a sedative if that’s the only issue you're facing.

My sister gets this every single time she drives into the city (she's 20 and a great driver, so it's not like she's nervous or anything), she always has to find a restroom halfway through the trip.
You aren't alone in this!

Besides just being nervous, things like sugars—you know, like the lactose in milk—or even sorbitol from sugar-free gum can definitely trigger diarrhea for some people...
maybe you’re dealing with some kind of irritable bowel syndrome here.
There are honestly so many different reasons why this happens...could it be parasites or something?

I don't know for sure, but since I deal with my own gut issues, I'd really suggest checking in with a doctor before you try anything else...
in the meantime, maybe give probiotics a shot...
or perhaps some fennel or peppermint tea might help settle things down.
