Look, man, I’ve actually lived the industrial life. I spent two and a half years grinding away in a factory setting. And I don't just mean we were playing heavy industrial tracks; I mean I literally had to wear earplugs just to get through the shift. My poor ears never quite adjusted to that kind of wall of sound, but somehow, I survived.

Perhaps that’s precisely what we see happening with DreDDup; on one hand, you have this gritty underground energy fueled by the philosophy of Trent Reznor—including his early work with Nine Inch Nails—and that unmistakable metaphysics that defines the musical backdrop of Marilyn Manson and his followers, which, despite appearing mismatched initially, actually fits perfectly with the vibe of this sleekly produced, pitch-black CD.

Could it be that the core, somewhat bitter lyrical thread running through these guys' work is hidden within a single, sharp poetic edge that remains permanently etched into their thirteenth (is that a coincidence?) sonic document on the album, sounding out like: "Bring the noise" / "Fuck this world I don't want to stay now"?

Regardless of how you look at it, between the undeniably tight and aggressive groove captured on the disc and those specific, almost hallucinogenic, and truly inspiring illustrations tucked inside the booklet, this very real and timely, slightly brutal adventure—or trip, if you prefer—is something you might just enjoy. If you’re tuning in to Channel 9 tonight for the GAIN up show, you might just catch an exclusive first look at our new documentary featuring DreDDup. It’s packed with everything from raw live footage and deep-dive interviews to a few select music videos, so there’s plenty to sink your teeth into.

Our friends over at Insurrection Records have decided to spread some joy once again by
offering up a really interesting little gift via torrent:

This time around, we've got a documentary focusing on the band dreDDup and their 'Industrial Renaissance' journey. This project was originally slated for completion back in 2007 to celebrate the band's tenth anniversary, but it finally crossed the finish line in 2008, and it is quite the collection, featuring interviews, music videos, stories from former members, and a massive haul of live footage spanning from the band's very first steps right up to the present day. The whole thing is packed into a 700mb file in Xvid/mp3 format, and our label is sharing it with everyone as a torrent. If you've ever wanted to see the true essence of dreDDup, wouldn't you agree that this film is something you simply shouldn't miss?

The band first came together back in 1997 in Detroit. Our sound mostly leans into that heavy industrial/crossover vibe you'd find in the nineties, isn't it interesting how those textures still hit so hard? We have put out quite a few EP-je over the years, appeared on several compilations, and released two official full-length albums. Our debut, 'Mr Borndeads Feast', dropped in 2005 through the Dutch publisher 'MoocSound Records', while our second album, 'futur Porn Machin', was released via the Mexico City publishing house 'Insurrection Records'. It is actually pretty cool to mention that we will be featured on a bonus disc for the reissue of the Nina INCH NAILS album "Year zero", appearing as an official remixer for NiN. Right now, the band is busy promoting our third album, "el Conquistadors", which is set to launch through dark REVOLUTION at the start of March 2009. Most of our lyrics focus on an apocalyptic perspective of modern society, don't you think? As for our influences, we draw a lot from Skrew, Bile, Laibach, Borghesia, Clawfinger, Einsturzende Neubauten, and Prodigy...

Since we’re on a mission to gather as much audio and video content as possible for this massive new project we've got in the works, we’ve officially launched this MySpace fanclub group where all you die-hard fans can upload concert photos, video clips, and just share your overall thoughts on our albums and live shows. The band plans to collect everything you share to put together a brand-new DVD over the next two and a half years, which will serve as a huge celebration for our 15th anniversary. Just wanted to drop a quick little update for everyone following along! We’re looking at early 2011 as the target for finishing up our fourth album, which should be pretty exciting, right? As for touring, DreDDup is gearing up to head out on a massive European tour starting in late May 2010, covering everything from Central Europe all the way through the old Ex-America territories. We’ll be posting the full itinerary with specific dates and cities very soon, but we can already confirm we'll be hitting three different cities in the States. Stay tuned!

So far, we have both of these dates locked in! While the HGF festival in Zabok is going to be this massive, large-scale concert experience, the Outsider show will have much more of an intimate, club-oriented vibe, don't you think? Either way, you really should come out and hear us live:
