Hey everyone!

So, I was wondering if anyone knows the name of this movie I'm trying to track down!

I remember seeing it on PBS—probably like a hundred times back in the day. It’s old, black and white, definitely one of those classics.

The plot goes like this: her dad goes off to war and leaves her at some fancy boarding school. Then they tell her he's been killed in action, and since there's nobody left to pay the tuition, she basically goes from being an elite student to a servant, moved into some tiny, miserable little room.

The final scene is where the dad (who actually survives, though he's wounded) finally reunites with her by a pine tree. It’s Christmas, and they get their happy ending together.

I absolutely loved this when I was a kid, and I'm feeling a bit nostalgic, so if anyone can help me out... thanks! 🙂

It used to play on PBS all the time—probably a hundred times, actually—so it's quite old, black and white, and I suppose it's considered a classic.

The plot goes something like this: a little girl's father goes off to war, leaving her at what seems to be some sort of elite boarding school. Later, they inform her that her father has been killed in action, and since there's no one left to pay her tuition, she suddenly finds herself relegated to being a servant in a much humbler room.

The final scene features the father—who, as it turns out, actually survives, though he's wounded—hugging the little girl by a pine tree; it's Christmas, and they are finally reunited.

I absolutely loved this when I was a kid, and I guess I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic, so if anyone could help me out... Thanks 🙂

I think it might be

I’ve got this nagging feeling pulling at me, almost like I'm living through some kind of *Little Princess* scenario, just like 🤔

By the way—if you're hunting for a specific movie title, check out our "Movies with Forgotten Titles" thread—this one has actually popped up there before. Cheers!
