Hi everyone! So, I’m scheduled for the surgery mentioned above. I've been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my left hand following a fall—basically some damaged cartilage and all that good stuff. From what I can gather, the joint ends up feeling completely stiff after the procedure. Since this involves the fingers on my left hand, I'm honestly a little terrified of losing mobility and being unable to move them properly. Has anyone here actually gone through this specific surgery? I'd love to hear about your experiences.
thanks so much..

Laura Rodriguez48 said:Hey there. So, I’m looking at having this surgery come up—basically because I’ve got some nasty osteoarthritis in my left hand after a bad fall, damaged cartilage and all that jazz... and from what I can gather, once they go through with it, that joint just stays totally stiff. Since we're talking about my left fingers, I'm honestly kind of spiraling thinking I might end up pretty disabled if I can't move them properly. Has anyone here actually gone through this specific procedure? Any real-world experiences you can share?
thanks so much..

sending good vibes from Seattle,
how did your surgery actually turn out? Are you happy with the results? I just got my diagnosis and I'm seriously overthinking this whole operation right now.

So, I’m heading in for joint surgery pretty soon myself. My orthopedic surgeon gave me the heads-up that there's a high chance the joint is going to take some damage—apparently, the tumor is just way too close for comfort—so they'll likely have to fuse the joint entirely. Honestly, I'm spiraling a bit trying to wrap my head around the logistics of it all. I really need to know what the reality looks like once the dust settles... will I actually be able to walk normally, run, or even just pivot my ankle without issues?

Does anyone have anything to contribute—personal experiences or otherwise—regarding hand or foot issues, or any specific joint pain?
