Blood test results

Hey everyone,

Just got back from my blood work. Can anyone help me make sense of these numbers that fell outside the standard ranges?

My MCHC came in at 347 (normal range is 320-345)

Differential count:
Neutrophils 43.0 (normal range 44.0-72.0)
Eosinophils 8.0 (normal range 0.0 - 7.0)

Does anyone know what this actually means?
Everything else looks totally fine and within the normal limits,
RBC - 5.40, ESR 4, hemoglobin 161, MCV 85.8, MCH 29.7, WBC 7.4, glucose 5.5, AST 15, ALT 28, GGT 47, iron 23.3, lymphocytes 45.0, monocytes 2.0, bands 1.0

I was wondering, do you happen to have any allergies?

Those raises are honestly pretty insignificant..
Maybe just those eosinophils..like Christian Wilson16 mentioned, they go up during allergic reactions, but even then, I guess they still look within the normal range to me..
See what your doctor says..maybe it would be a good idea to redo your blood work after a while so you can be 100% sure🙂

No allergies here, past or present. I've never actually had a full blood panel done before, so I asked my doctor to run one since I get my blood checked once a year anyway.

It could be absolutely nothing, but then again, it might actually be something... honestly, you really ought to just take those results to your doctor instead of relying on everyone here to weigh in. Don't take any of this at face value 😈

Hey, look—those tiny deviations from the reference range don't mean a thing, especially not your MCHC, provided your other red blood cell indices, hemoglobin, and RBC count are all looking solid. You've got nothing to worry about.

Status: BP 120/80 mmHg. HR 150/min
Patient is awake, alert, oriented, breathing normally, and skin/mucosa look pink and well-hydrated.
Hypertension noted in upper extremities. Jugular veins are collapsed, and I don't hear any bruits over the carotids: lung sounds are clear on auscultation.
Heart: Tachycardic rhythm, heart sounds are distinct, no murmurs detected.
abdomen: Soft, non-tender, liver and spleen aren't palpable.
Bowel sounds present, LS is non-tender bilaterally.
Extremities are symmetrical with no edema,
EKG: Sinus rhythm at 150 bpm; follow-up EKG shows SR at 121/min.
Labs: L 9.5 DKS bo, Hb 160, MCV 88, trc 258, GUK 7.7, kreat 100, ureja 7.1, Na 142, K 3.4, blood alcohol 0,
Toxicology screen: opiates 1643nmol/l

Looks like someone either had a bit too much fun or just made a massive mistake with their pills, especially since they're dealing with that racing heart afterward.

Honestly, all these results are totally unremarkable, so there's really no point in overanalyzing them. Just stop stressing out about whatever is eating at you and you'll get back to baseline—I can already see things looking up on your follow-up EKG anyway. Unless, of course, you've actually done some permanent damage to your myocardium.

Opiates=1643nmol/l
Benzodiazepines=negative

Gas chromatography: confirmed presence of morphine.

So, does 1643nmol/l actually work out to x grams?
