Minocycline (Rathioharam)

Hey everyone, I’m dealing with some acne issues and recently saw a private dermatologist who prescribed this antibiotic,

I’ve actually never taken antibiotics before, so I’m feeling a little nervous about potential side effects. To make things even more confusing, the instructions and side effect info on the packaging are all in German. I tried searching Google for answers, but I can't find anything helpful in either English or American, which is frustrating. My doctor mentioned that these are relatively mild antibiotics and shouldn't cause any major issues, but I’d love to get a few more perspectives before I start swallowing them. Does anyone here know much about this specific one? Has anyone had any experiences using this antibiotic?

Does anyone here actually know anything about this, or at least know where I can find some instructions in English? They sell it here with everything in German, and it's a bit of a headache.

I was on them a few years back. I had to order them through a CVS Pharmacy because they were out of stock locally at the time. I went through a few boxes—can't recall the exact dosage, as that should have been specified by your dermatologist.
No side effects for me, and honestly, they were a lifesaver. After finishing the course, the constant breakouts that nothing else could touch just stopped. My skin is still somewhat finicky today, but those massive acne flare-ups that plagued me for years never came back.

Is anyone currently navigating the 50mg Minocycline routine? I’m just starting my third box, and while the inflammation has finally begun to subside, those stubborn red patches are still hanging around like uninvited guests at a party. 😢

I’m currently on my third pack of Minocycline. Honestly, I haven't dealt with any side effects so far, which is a win, but I haven't seen any massive transformations yet either. My skin is definitely looking better, but I've got this nagging fear that once I stop taking it, everything is just going to crash back to where it started. Also, quick question—where are you guys picking yours up and what's the damage? I heard prices vary like crazy; the CVS Pharmacy I use charges $42, but apparently, there are cheaper options out there. If anyone knows where to find a better deal, let me know. Thanks.

I pick mine up at a small local pharmacy nearby—nothing special. I pay the same amount as everyone else $42 :/.. I haven't heard of anyone getting it cheaper, only more expensive 🤷 but whatever. It has helped me quite a bit; the breakouts are gone, leaving only some minor pigmentation issues :S. However, I plan to fix that with dermabrasion, as my dermatologist recommended... mhm... At one point, I actually stopped taking it, and my skin started acting up again, so I went right back on it for another month... I am hopeful that this time it will be permanently resolved.😍

A while back, I went to that pharmacy downtown, "Pablo Central Pharmacy," and it was about $35, which was pricey, but when I went back the second time they didn't even have it. The clerk had no clue they used to carry Rathioharam; she thought it was some other brand. Now I just hit up CVS Pharmacy, it's $42. Anyway, I was on them for maybe two months about three years ago, but since it was summer, I had to stop. My skin cleared up for a minute, then it totally flared back up. I've been back on them for three months now, and my face is looking better, except for this peeling thing—not sure if that's a side effect 😕. How many months total were you on them straight? Like, how long was your whole treatment? 😁
