Ever since I started on birth control, I’ve gained 22 pounds! Honestly, this would technically be my "ideal" weight according to some charts, but I actually feel much better when I'm leaner. On the bright side, it’s pushed me to get serious about fitness and start eating way cleaner. Now, my weight has finally stabilized—I’m not gaining anymore, but I’m not losing either. Do you think my typical daily diet is still within the realm of a healthy lifestyle?

Whole grain bread
Yogurt
2 apples
Ice cream
A serving of ground beef
3 servings of pea, carrot, and potato stew
2 slices of whole grain toast

I don't think you're really crossing any lines when it comes to what's considered a normal diet. I mean, maybe if you just tossed in a few more salads here and there, or swapped out the meat for some fish, an egg, or even some cheese once in a while, I'd say you've basically got a super healthy way of eating figured out! 👍

On the bright side, it actually pushed me to get serious about working out and eating better. Now, I’m not really gaining or losing, just staying steady. Do you guys think my current daily diet is pushing the limits of what's considered healthy:

whole wheat rolls
yogurt
2 apples
ice cream
a serving of ground meat
3 servings of pea, carrot, and potato stew
2 slices of whole wheat bread

Hey there... I’m dealing with a pretty similar situation, though I didn't gain the weight from pills—it was from pregnancy. I ended up throwing myself into intense workouts and cutting back on portions, and lately, I've been experimenting with some protein shakes (they seem pretty great so far)...

Generally speaking, I eat really clean and make sure I have fresh veggies from the farmer's market every single day (usually steamed with some olive oil), fish at least three times a week, and maybe pasta once every couple of weeks... I won't bore you with the full list...

After talking it through with several nutritionists and testing out healthy eating patterns on myself, I really think your daily menu just needs a few little tweaks...

First off; you don't really need those rolls. I'd swap them for actual whole wheat bread in the morning (because wait, are you eating the bread at night?)... grab a slice with some cheese and, if you can, definitely add some veggies—maybe some carrots or alfalfa sprouts, which I absolutely love for breakfast... then have your yogurt and apple... basically, you'll be totally fueled up for the day...

Three servings of stew... well... I don't think you need that much. Instead, go for one serving of stew, a nice salad, and maybe a piece of grilled meat or some mushrooms...

It's super important to eat cooked veggies every day alongside something grilled and a salad... that's the secret sauce right there. If you can manage to cook veggies 3 or 4 times a week, your body will seriously thank you. Just try not to go overboard with the potatoes or beans, since those can be tricky for weight management...

And maybe swap the ice cream for some fruit yogurt or a fruit salad...

Gosh, I hope I didn't overstep here, I'm just trying to help 🙂 if I did, please let me know...

Good luck...

Sometimes I just have to treat myself to a massive plate of BBQ sliders. 🙂

I’m a huge fan of fish—honestly, I try to get it on my plate several times a week. I also live on egg whites, so those are a daily staple for me. When it comes to cheese, I usually go for something fresh paired with a bit of cream. As for salads? Not really my thing. If I have to eat veggies, it’ll just be some cucumbers, tomatoes, or bell peppers.

I’ve really been throwing myself into intense workouts and tightening up my diet lately. I’ve even started experimenting with some protein shakes, which honestly seem like a game changer so far.

I take my diet seriously, too. I make it a point to eat super clean, making sure I hit the farmer's market for fresh veggies almost every day—usually just steamed up with a bit of olive oil. I also aim for fish at least three times a week, and I'll treat myself to some pasta maybe once every couple of weeks or so. I won't bore you with the whole list, but that's the gist of it.

Look, I’ve spent a ton of time picking the brains of nutritionists and testing out clean eating protocols on my own body to see what actually works. After all that trial and error, I honestly think your daily meal plan could use just a few small tweaks to really level up.

First things first: skip the whole-wheat pastries. I actually realized you’re saving your bread intake for the evening anyway, so let's just swap that out for some whole-grain toast in the morning instead. Grab a slice topped with some cheese, and if you can, definitely pair it with some veggies—I’m obsessed with adding carrots or alfalfa sprouts to my breakfast; it makes such a difference. Toss in a yogurt and an apple, and honestly, you'll be eating like royalty. You'll be totally fueled up for the day!

Three helpings of goulash? Honestly, I don't think you need to go that hard. If I were you, I’d just grab one serving of the goulash, a side salad, and then pick either a piece of grilled meat or some mushrooms. Trust me, you'll feel much better after.

If you want to hit the nutritional jackpot, you’ve got to make cooked veggies a daily staple. Pair them with something grilled and toss in a fresh salad—that’s the ultimate winning combo. If you can manage to prep some cooked vegetables three or four times a week, your body will seriously thank you for it. Just a heads-up though: don't go overboard with the potatoes or beans; they can be total troublemakers if you overdo it.

Swap out that ice cream for some fruit yogurt or a fresh fruit salad instead!

Man, I really hope I didn't go overboard there—I was just trying to be helpful. 🙂 If you are, just say the word...

Best of luck out there!

You didn't go overboard at all—thank you so much for such solid advice! 😘

thanks 😉
