It just starts with my vision blurring out of nowhere; for about fifteen minutes, I can't find a single point of focus, then my peripheral vision goes hazy before it finally passes, though it invariably leaves me with a headache and a bit of nausea.

That sounds like a migraine. What you're describing happening right before the pain hits is actually called an aura.

Mine were flickering tooβ€”just the lower eyelid. And honestly, it was driving me absolutely nuts. It finally stopped, though. I’ve got a hunch it was just from overexerting myself lately. 😬

I suppose you might be familiar with how the diagnostic process works?

That sounds suspiciously like a migraine. 😒
especially if that headache comes paired with nausea or even vomiting. Your first move should be seeing an ophthalmologist (assuming you haven't already), and if their report comes back clean, then go see a neurologist.
I sincerely hope it isn't a migraineβ€”honestly, it would be much better if you just needed a pair of glasses...πŸ™‚

Well, I heard the exact opposite once: if it's the left eye, you're fine; if it's the right, you're in for trouble. 😁 πŸ˜‰
