So, I finally got an email back from FOX regarding the WNBA being pulled from the schedule. Their (lightning fast!) response was basically:

"To whom it may concern, FOX plans to bring back Northern Exposure, and we will notify you about the exact premiere date in due course.
Best regards,
FOX"

Well, thanks for nothing, I guess.

That’s certainly a detailed way of saying absolutely nothing, but I suppose it doesn't matter since they actually bothered to reply and at least promised to bring it back.🙂

Anyway, from what I gather, Nikita should be wrapping up that afternoon slot pretty soon. Maybe that’s when they'll finally start airing Northern Exposure starting from all the way back in season one? I guess we'll see. 🤷

I find myself wondering, who exactly is overseeing the programming over at FOX? It seems that with lapses in judgment like these, they are simply driving their audience away. To be perfectly honest, until they decide to bring back Northern Exposure, I have no intention of tuning into their channel at all. It wasn't always this way, you know; I used to find myself watching Seinfeld beforehand, and I would even stay tuned for a movie right after an episode of the WNBA.

Does anyone know if those DVDs used the original soundtrack? I heard when they released the series in the States, they swapped out the music because licensing wasn't worth the cost. Is that actually what happened?

And can you even find those sets anymore? Who was the distributor here in the US?

Yeah, you're spot on, those are definitely the DVDs with the replaced music, and they were put out by The Miami Herald. Honestly, I have no clue if you can still track them down anywhere.

We're way past the halfway mark, actually—we're currently in season 5, and episode 6 was the last one aired. There's probably about 40 episodes still left to go. I just wish they'd pick a better deadline for the schedule...

I don't quite follow what you mean about the music being non-original... I own every single one of those DVDs released by the Los Angeles Times, and I personally don't notice any difference compared to when I watched the series on TV during its original run.

Everything is a perfect 5 out of 5, but unfortunately, they didn't release anything past season 3.... and there are still seasons 4, 5, and 6 out there... :-(
