Roger Allen3 said:yeah, whatever:-) Kostich has their first goalie. sure, those guys from New York gave him hell, but only in one game. 😬

One game against them and we're playing.😬

Looks like that idiot New York Post won't even load. Guess those beloved Spaniards played us.

Davor is going to absolutely crush them in the second round. Honestly, those frauds have no idea what’s coming for them; they’re completely clueless about how badly they've messed up. On a different note, I was wondering—regarding the B test, do they send over the exact same urine sample from December 20th, or is it a fresh one? Basically, is there any chance those doping traces could clear out if they send a new sample in three or four weeks?

They’re gonna be shaking in their boots by the second round. But hey, they're Spaniards.

frozentiger6 said:It’s not like David did anything wrong on purpose. He was just taking some cold medicine, maybe something for a sore throat. Turns out one of the substances in that stuff is on the banned list.

In theory, you take some nasal spray, a throat lozenge, or even some damn Advil, and suddenly they declare you positive.
I’m thinking David might make a comeback in the second half, and hopefully, he'll absolutely demolish the Spaniards—and everything else on that court.

It turns out the guy knew he had failed the doping test, so he just kept quiet about it. And he failed because of a diuretic—you know, those things used to flush performance enhancers out of your system...
And as for the fact that Dominikovic tested clean on our domestic tests? We can just throw that in the trash. Of course he's clean now; it's already left his system, but the B-test is going to show he wasn't clean at the time.

And what if this is some Spanish setup?
Are the Spaniards really that low? I mean, would they really go to such lengths in a sport that isn't even globally massive? No offense meant, but handball is only played at a high level in maybe ten countries. Even the betting odds tell the story—in the first twelve games of the World Championship, the favorites were priced at less than 1.05 most of the time. Would they really sabotage a player who actually plays in their own league? My friends, what a disgrace that would be, not just for their handball, but for sports in general. And honestly, if they wanted to frame us, they’d do it smarter—like causing a stir during the tournament or right when we (God willing) win a medal.

Look, people, the man tested positive. But here at home, the media is painting it as "no big deal," and they’re being incredibly vague about what substance actually triggered it. Personally, I think the B-test is going to be a total disaster for us.
It’s easy to say they framed him. Sure... just like they framed Ben Johnson, or those other athletes in the headlines.

It looks like those silly evening news outlets—it seems our dear Spaniard friends actually pulled a fast one on us.

Is this what you mean?

Dominikovic's results from Santa Barbara came back negative

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee conducted doping tests on nine selected players during our handball team's training camp in Santa Barbara. Among them was David Dominikovic. Today, the lab results arrived from Vienna.

- The good news is that all results were negative, including Dominikovic's. I was very relieved to hear that. I am confident that the "B" urine sample from December 20th will also be negative and that David will rejoin us shortly. What truly matters is that the entire coaching staff and all the players stand firmly behind David. - said Lino Červar. (dm)

As for the fact that Dominikovic tested clean on our domestic tests? We can take that straight to the bank—meaning, we can forget about it. Of course he's clean now; the substance has already left his body. Once the B-sample results come back, they'll show exactly what the situation was at the time.

And what if this is some Spanish setup?
Are the Spaniards really that low? Why would they go through all that trouble in a sport that isn't even globally massive? (No offense intended, but let's be honest: only about ten countries play handball at a high level, and you can see how predictable it is by looking at the betting odds during the World Championship—favorites had odds lower than 1.05 in eleven of the first twelve games). Would they really risk sabotaging a player who plays in their own league? Think about the scandal that would cause, not just for Spanish handball, but for the integrity of sports everywhere. Even if someone wanted to frame us, wouldn't they do it smarter? They’d wait until the World Championship was in full swing or when we were actually on the verge of winning a medal.

Look, the fact is, the man doped. Yet, here at home, the media is painting it as no big deal, staying silent about what he actually used. I suspect the B-sample is going to be a massive blow to us.
The easiest excuse is to claim he was framed. Sure... just like Ben Johnson, or those other athletes caught in similar scandals.

That’s exactly my point, but apparently, objectivity is a foreign concept around here.

The first game is officially in the books. Germany pulled off the win against Brazil, but honestly, the Germans looked pretty rough out there.

And honestly, it’s just easier for people to jump straight to counter-attacks, conspiracy theories, and all that nonsense.
I mean, look at Kavran and the rest of the crew over in Germany—they aren't going to peddle those kinds of empty clichés...

frozentiger6, you’re going to see that Dominikovic won't be playing in the World Championship. It’s also a messy situation moving forward; who’s actually going to want to sign a player with a doping history? And after David kept those results under wraps, he even went out and said he "doesn't believe in any conspiracy theories." We really did this to ourselves.

The stain on the reputation is massive, but then again, that’s just the mindset we have as Americans. Even the media folks covering handball are basically working toward the same goals as the players and the Federation. You see it in the news—total chaos where the doctor ends up contradicting himself right in the middle of an article, and yet, Americans just swallow it whole.
If we happen to mess up during this World Championship, mark my words, you'll hear stuff like, "The Dominikovic situation ruined the team chemistry," and so on.

And don't think I'm just talking out of thin air here. I know American handball inside and out—it's literally my profession.

Nathan Kern9 said:And honestly, if I were just making stuff up, I'd be kidding myself. I live and breathe American handball—it’s my actual job, and I know this sport inside and out.

Believe it or not, you aren't the only one thinking this way.

We'll see how things play out, obviously. There's plenty of time left on the clock. I'm not interested in going back and forth trying to prove anyone wrong; I just don't have the energy for it.

Nathan Kern9 said:But what if this was some kind of setup by the Spaniards?
I mean, are Spaniards really that desperate to rig a match in a sport that isn't even globally massive—no offense intended, but let's be real, there are maybe ten countries actually playing handball at a world-class level, and you can tell just by looking at how the favorites have odds lower than 1.05 in basically every single one of the first twelve games of the World Championship—that they'd risk rigging a player who plays right there in their own backyard? I mean, come on people, that would be such a massive scandal, not just for their handball program but for the integrity of sports everywhere... and honestly, if anyone were actually going to fix something, they’d be smarter about it, like causing chaos during the tournament itself, or waiting until we actually win a medal, God willing...

Look, from what I can tell, nobody is blaming the Spaniards here. If something shady is happening, it wouldn't be the Government doing it, it would be the Handball Federation. And they're the ones with everything to lose.

So, you're saying the Spanish Handball Federation just made up this whole story about him being on doping? Or...
I'm not quite following your train of thought.

Once again, David tested positive for something on the banned list, but we’re talking about an ingredient found in basic over-the-counter stuff like Max Flu—you know, those cough and cold medicines you grab at CVS.

It isn't doping, plain and simple.

Nobody is actually claiming the Spaniards planted the results, but what nobody can wrap their heads around is why the results were released this Thursday instead of last year when they SHOULD have been reported.

Are Mexicans sitting this one out because the SICG fell apart, or did they just fail to qualify?

😢 Man, they would have been such easy targets to crush... we really need to settle some scores, if you don't count the World Cup...

So, when on earth are we actually going to see those Type B test results come back for Dominic? I mean, seriously, the second round is practically breathing down our necks at this point...

Whenever those Spaniards finally decide to get their act together and stop screwing us over.
There’s nothing more shady than them.
