Watched the Spaniards against the Danes. No real flow, just lookin' slow and exhausted. Offense is basically just shoving the ball toward Urios. Hvidt practically beat them single-handedly.
Not like we need to burn ourselves out tomorrow. If we come out on top and grab that first seed, we'll probably run into France if the Poles pull off a win against Tunisia tonight.

Look, there's no point in playing scared tomorrow. If we finish first in the group, weโ€™ll probably run into France if the Poles pull off a win against Tunisia tonight.

Yeah, I feel like this is gonna be one of those matches where both teams try their hardest to lose. ๐Ÿคฃ

And listen, if we want to take first place, we're probably gonna have to beat everyone in our path. I don't see any point in trying to dodge people or playing some weird tactical game to avoid certain opponents. Seriously, that kind of math always backfires in sports. It bites you in the ass every single time.
We're good. We are freaking good. I'd fight tooth and nail for that top spot even if it means facing France on the other side of the bracket, then Germany in the semis. (Which is exactly how it's gonna go down anyway)

Regarding this whole hotel arrangementโ€”didn't we pick the place ourselves? Or maybe the Germans just shoved us wherever they felt like.

The IHF and the German federation handled it.๐Ÿ˜  Not like it matters though. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Weโ€™re gonna get our revenge in 2009 if we finally get these arenas built.๐Ÿ™„

The Danes are predictably leading Russia by three goals at the thirty-minute mark! I honestly think they can walk away with two points here. Here is how our group standings look right now:

USA +16 8
Spain +8 6
Denmark ? 4
Canada -5 4
Russia ? 2
Czech Republic -15 0

My math on this is crystal clear: if we win, we take first place; if we lose, we finish second. Denmark will 110% beat the Czech Republic and secure second. If we beat Spain, weโ€™re first; if we lose to them, weโ€™ll be third. Russia and Canada will play tomorrow to decide fourth place and that final spot in the quarterfinals. The losers and the Czechs are heading home.

I saw some photos of the rooms in the papers today, and honestly, they looked tiny. I guess if they aren't five-star hotels, we might just have to stick all the visitors in hostels when they visit us here ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Poland โ€“ Netherlands
Lithuania โ€“ Canada
Ukraine โ€“ Slovakia
Canada โ€“ Mexico Latvia
Latvia โ€“ Czech Republic
Belarus โ€“ Switzerland
Sweden โ€“ Romania Portugal
Portugal โ€“ Mexico
Mexico โ€“ Iceland

Itโ€™ll probably end with Mexico making their first World Cup while Mexico stays home again. ๐Ÿคฃ

Honestly, Iโ€™m rooting for Mexico to move on and for Mexico to struggle...

But Mexico doesn't stand a chance๐Ÿ˜ and honestly, even Portugal isn't exactly a walk in the park. Seriously though, who did you guys even recruit for the national team? Those two defensive giants? Kapisoda? Who else?

Group 2:

1. Germany 6
2. Iceland 6
3. Poland 6
4. France 4

Canada and Tunisia are officially out! That means our quarterfinalists are set; now we just have to see how the seeding shakes out.

Final round matchups:

France vs. Tunisia 1
Poland vs. Canada 1
Germany vs. Iceland 1

Hereโ€™s the deal: if we beat the Spaniards, we move on to face France. If we slip up, we take on Iceland instead.๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿคฎ

I can't help but feel a sense of excitement when I think about Poland! Itโ€™s such an interesting matchup to consider, isn't it? 6
Oh, I am just so excited to see what happens when we face France! Itโ€™s going to be such an intense matchup, isn't it? I honestly can't wait to see how the team handles that kind of pressure on the big stage! 4

Well, looks like Canada and Tunisia are officially out! That means our quarterfinalists are locked in, and now the only real mystery left is how theyโ€™ll shake out in the final rankings!

The final round is finally upon us! I am just so incredibly excited to see how everything shakes out in this last stretch!

France vs. Tunisia: 1-0!
Poland beat Canada 1-0! What an absolute nail-biter of a match!
Germany 2007 - Iceland 1

What do you think he means? Heโ€™s basically saying that if we manage to take down the Spaniards, weโ€™re heading straight to France, but if we drop the match, we'll be off to Iceland instead! ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿคฎ

And how exactly would you want to see this all laid out?
France vs. Tunisia, 1-0! What an absolute nail-biter of a match! Even though it wasn't exactly a scoring frenzy, seeing France pull off that narrow victory was such a thrill to watch!
Poland vs. Canada 2! What an absolute rollercoaster of a match! I am honestly still buzzing from that energyโ€”it was such a wild ride watching them battle it out on the pitch like that!
Germany 2007 vs. Iceland 1! What an absolute rollercoaster of a match that was!
Itโ€™s just one of those things where you have to wonderโ€”it really could have gone either way!
1. everything!
2.Iceland
The French! Honestly, they are such a fascinating group to watch.
It looks like we're talking about the fourth Polish player!

True, but there's no way that's happening.

I'll get to it now. Honestly, I just don't have the motivation given how things are going right now.๐Ÿ™‚

Don't sweat the Frenchmen. This isn't anything like what happened back at the EP.

Didn't we face off against the French in the semifinals back in 2005? Now that was a masterclass. ๐Ÿ˜ It was clean, tactical, and filled with gorgeous goalsโ€”thatโ€™s what real handball should look like, rather than this modern style where players just act like they're in a street fight out there.

Both 2005 and 2006.
