Donna Watson10 said:So, a buddy of mine was dealing with some pretty intense anxiety lately, and his doctor actually told him he had serious heart issues.
He decided to go see one of the top specialists in the country over in Chicago, and honestly? The guy just burst out laughing and basically called the first doctor out for being totally off base.
Turns out, all he was experiencing was a racing heart—which is a super common side effect of anxiety and completely harmless in his case.

Typical LOM behavior.

I agree that it doesn't technically belong in a thread about errors, but it is definitely a blatant waste of resources.

So, here’s my experience dealing with doctors. My husband and I were in a wreck—some idiot on a motorcycle blew through a stop sign and nearly killed us. I ended up with a broken leg and cracked ribs. They checked me out in the ER, but they completely missed that I had a massive scrape, so when I finally got to X-ray, I bled all over the floor. The tech asks where I'm bleeding from, and honestly, I was so dazed I barely knew my own name, let alone what was happening. Anyway, moving on. They discharged me saying everything was basically fine, just a little banged up. That first night, though, I’m coughing up blood. I head back the next day, they run a CT scan on my head, and *then* they realize I have a maxillary sinus fracture. Fine. They send me home again. Everything seems okay for five days, until then excruciating abdominal pain kicks in. I go to my primary care doctor, and he sends me straight back to the hospital. They examine me, and thank God, I run into this incredible doctor (he was from New York and seriously handsome...🙂), who orders a CT with contrast. Turns out, my spleen was enlarged and had a hematoma. I was rushed into surgery that same night to have my spleen removed, and once they actually opened me up, they realized it had been ruptured and slowly bleeding the whole time. I was basically a hair's breadth away from sepsis and death. Honestly, the negligence was just top-tier.

So, how's the husband doing? Is he finally back on his feet?

Motorcycles are just so dangerous, honestly. There's always that constant risk of an accident happening when you least expect it. Have you at least given up on riding by now?

My husband’s got seven screws in his leg right now. He can't really walk on his own yet, so he's stuck using crutches since he isn't allowed to put any weight on it. I guess the ribs might actually be a bigger issue, because they're hurting him pretty bad.
As for giving up riding, he hasn't quit, but I think I have. We have a 10-year-old daughter, and honestly, I just want to stay healthy enough—and more importantly, stay ALIVE—for her.
