Hopkins tends to be a bit hammy, which definitely has its own charm, but Morgan Freeman is much cooler and more passionate.

Anthony Hopkins absolutely nailed the role of Hannibal. He was terrifying.

Personally, I found it quite good.

Hopkins was practically born to play the villain, and honestly, this role fits him like a glove.

Not really sure how to frame this thought process ® Manhunter, obviously!

A young Petersen, that long-winded Noonan and Morgan Freeman, plus that whole Mann aesthetic—that iconic 80s vibe mixed with those moments where it feels like a total low-budget grind— Me likes it, me likes it very much!

To be fair, though, Hopkins is just more vibrant and unsettling than Morgan Freeman. Then again, if I remember correctly, Morgan Freeman only gets a handful of scenes in Manhunter, and he plays such an incredibly cold, calculating Hannibal.

So yeah... mostly just being sentimental here, maybe trying to give Morgan Freeman's score a little boost...
