Gregory Fox53 said:I’ve been dealing with some stomach issues for the last few weeks... constant acid reflux and this nagging sensation of emptiness in my gut. Eating helps for a moment, but it’s incredibly short-lived. No matter how much I eat, that hollow feeling just comes right back. It’s like I constantly have to "shovel something down" just to get my stomach to settle... It isn't exactly painful, per se, just this relentless acidity and emptiness. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any idea what might be causing it...? 😕
Eat more often, but eat LESS...
Don't stress yourself out too much... just try to lay off the coffee for a while. And if you're still smoking, at least cut back on the intake—and for heaven's sake, don't do it on an empty stomach... You really shouldn't irritate your stomach by brushing your teeth before breakfast; eat something first, then brush...
Maybe try taking it a little easier on your diet... stick to more cooked meals and stay away from the raw stuff—tomatoes and all that... and cut back on the grease... also, skip the heavy spice, the sugar rushes, and the salt bombs...
Stick to room temperature foods... avoid anything ice-cold or scalding hot...
If you’re dealing with that constant acid reflux, maybe try grabbing some yogurt or something similar—look for those probiotics like LGG... or just eat a couple of slices of bread. If all else fails, though, just grab a Tums...
Don't go face-planting into bed right after eating... give it at least two or three hours. Seriously. Once you're finished with dinner, don't just collapse onto the couch... sit upright for a bit... or better yet, take a quick stroll around the block...
Chew your food. Seriously... even if I don't exactly follow my own advice—and let’s be honest, most people don't—I end up swallowing almost entire chunks...
Stay hydrated. Seriously. Stick to water—plain or sparkling... it’s really the only way to go.
Steer clear of Coca-Cola, Fanta, or even those "all-natural" juices... just stay away from the sugary stuff entirely...
It should start looking up for you after a few days... maybe...
If things don't start looking up within three or four days, you should definitely go see a doctor...
Maybe try actually tracking what triggers your heartburn... you know, pinpointing exactly which foods set you off... then just stop eating them. Simple enough...
