I just had a cyst removed from my ovary at Mercury. It feels a bit strange that they scheduled my follow-up for three months out—does that seem like too long to wait just to make sure everything is healing okay?

After my surgery, they told me to call back in three weeks once the pathology report comes in. If things don't look right, I have to head back in immediately, regardless of when my follow-up was actually scheduled. At least that’s how they handle things here in my city.

My Python results came back looking good... I got them right after my stitches were taken out. How long am I supposed to be on bed rest? I know I can't head back to work for maybe two or three weeks, but does anyone know how to tell if things have actually healed up on the inside? Also, I felt a little awkward asking, but how long should I wait before being intimate again after surgery?

I can't give you a direct answer because my own procedure was also laparoscopic, but they ended up doing way more than just removing a cyst.

The truth is, I wouldn't have found out anything if I hadn't personally insisted on having a serious talk and asking a ton of questions during my stitch removal and right before being discharged from the hospital.

Let’s say you really should play it safe and skip sex for a month. Honestly, I couldn't hold out that long🙄 (three weeks), and nothing bad happened, but it's still better to be cautious.
My follow-up was a month later, and they told me everything looked fine.
I basically earned a PhD in these surgeries by now🙄 (not that I'm actually a doctor), and lately, I feel this weird throbbing whenever the weather shifts or if I overdo it lifting heavy stuff—maybe it's just in my head, who knows.

If you ask me, just make sure you keep your feet and kidneys warm and don't go catching a chill while it's still breezy out.😉 😁

The main thing is that your results came back clear.👍

I’m right there with Nona on this one. That connection between your kidneys and your legs is totally real—ever since my surgery, my feet stayed ice-cold for two weeks straight. I had to live in thick wool hiking socks just to feel human again! Same goes for wearing a wrap around your waist...

Quick question for Disney: when you went in to have that cyst removed, they ended up taking way more than originally planned. Did they really not mention anything to you when you were getting your stitches out? I honestly can't believe that!

No, I wasn't there for a routine gallbladder removal. I was admitted as an emergency case because of internal bleeding in my abdominal cavity.

It wasn't until I asked why I wasn't being discharged like the other women that I actually realized what they had done to me during surgery.

I didn't even realize what kind of surgery they’d actually performed on me until I finally asked why I wasn't being discharged along with all the other women.

😲 ...I mean, what kind of cowboy surgeon decides to go in laparoscopically to handle acute abdominal bleeding? It honestly sounds a bit reckless to me.
But hey, I don't know the full story, so that's just my gut feeling about the whole thing.🙂
