I don't know what's wrong with me

I’ve been feeling a bit off lately with some eye pain and a low-grade fever that just won't budge past 99.5°F, and honestly, I’m at a loss as to what's going on. Over the last month or two, I’ve gone through two boxes of Amoxicillin, a round of Klavox, and now I've been prescribed two more doses of Doxycycline, which makes me seriously wonder about the impact this is having on my health. I keep visiting my doctor, but we seem to be seeing the same symptoms over and over again; it all seems to stem from an ear, eye, throat, and sinus infection I picked up about a month ago due to the ventilation system at my workplace. While I thought that had cleared up, I still occasionally notice traces of blood in my saliva from my nose. I even had a full blood panel and urinalysis done recently, and since everything came back within the normal range, I am truly stumped as to what the underlying issue might be. 😕

Get yourself to an ENT and an ophthalmologist immediately. Honestly, I’d skip those family doctors who just throw taxpayer money away by handing out antibiotics like candy without ever actually making a real diagnosis.😠

Raymond Newman, please don't let a general practitioner "fix" you the way they did to me. There are specialists who actually deal with this specific stuff. This kind of constant antibiotic bombardment isn't good for anyone—in fact, it seems pretty irresponsible on your doctor's part—especially if they haven't investigated all the variables. An ophthalmologist should step in first, followed by others as needed, God willing, depending on what they suspect is wrong. 😉

Edit: I realized I forgot to ask—what is the nature of the pain? Does it follow any specific pattern or intervals? For instance, does it hurt when you suddenly shift your gaze or look toward a light source? Is it a dull ache, or is there a very specific spot in the eye where it hurts?

The whole thing doesn't hit me all at once; in the morning, I feel absolutely fine and there's no pain at all, but then by the afternoon, things start heading downhill. My eye begins to ache and my temperature jumps up to 98.6°F, and this happens every single day. My entire eye area feels sore constantly, though I did recently get some Alcon eye drops which have helped ease the discomfort a bit.

Hmm, I suppose you really ought to have an ophthalmologist take a look at that—you might even need to get a swab done, just to be safe. 🤷
It would probably be better to just go now, if only so you aren't left guessing about what's actually going on. 😉

And frankly, I don't understand who authorized those massive doses of antibiotics without even running a culture test first.
Just head to San Francisco. Once the appointment is over, walk through some shops or wander the streets. It’s a beautiful city; what's the problem?
That's my routine whenever I find myself in San Francisco. I buy something small that makes me happy, grab a coffee by the waterfront, and call it a day.

The standard medical consensus suggests one box per year should be more than sufficient... though even that feels like an excessive amount if you ask me.

That’s exactly what crossed my mind today; I have a cavity that's been bothering me, 😲 so I already scheduled an appointment, though it's still a little ways out
and it could just be my sinuses. My eye doctor told me my vision is perfectly fine, so it's likely either a tooth issue or sinus pressure.👎

I really am having the worst luck lately🤦
First, I try to schedule an appointment to get my sinuses checked out, only to find out the doctor won't be back in the office until November
Then, just when I decide to go in for a dental checkup, it turns out the dentist is away for a whole week🤦>

I suppose you could try seeing your primary care physician to see if they can write you a referral for a different specialist instead.

I'll try to get the imaging done tomorrow so I can pass it along to a radiologist or whoever handles the reports, but honestly, I'm not sure how much this will even help; if my sinuses are truly inflamed, I'm at a loss since I've already cycled through every antibiotic available.

I actually ended up on a regimen of penicillin injections because of them—I genuinely thought the treatments would never end.
And before that, I had already cycled through just about every antibiotic available.
My immune system was so utterly depleted that they had to administer one massive injection of some kind of "immune booster" just to get my body back on its feet.
Those damn sinuses... they can cause all sorts of trouble, much like dental issues can.😠
