It appears as follows...

A few days ago, I received a private message here on the forum, yet the notification failed to reach my email inbox despite having the option enabled (specifically, the setting to receive an email alert whenever a new private message arrives).

I only discovered the message by pure chance while navigating through my account settings to update some profile details.

Since that occurrence, I have not received any further private messages, leaving me uncertain whether this represents a systemic issue or merely an isolated incident.

I am interested to know if anyone else has encountered this particular glitch, and whether the technical support team for this site might be able to investigate the root cause.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Double-check that the email address in your profile is actually correct... I don't have much else to suggest, since everything seems to be working fine on my end (I used to have that setting turned on, but I absolutely hate it when my inbox gets flooded, so I switched it off). Personally, I actually kind of like the pop-up notification when a message arrives.

As for whether that happened? I haven't a clue, though I assume one of the site admins would have reached out by now...

There have already been instances where Yahoo Mail hasn't been performing quite as expected.
The Yahoo monitor often flags incoming mail as spam, which can result in messages being diverted straight to your junk folder. You should check there first. 😉

It is also possible for an email to be delayed or fail to arrive entirely, though that is a relatively rare occurrence typically tied to server-side issues.

I haven't changed my email address, and it is indeed a Yahoo account.
I check my spam folder every single time, so there is absolutely no chance it ended up there. Therefore, the message simply never arrived.

It is known to happen that an email is delayed or fails to arrive entirely. However, that is rare and usually only occurs when there are issues with the server.

I don't quite follow this? Does anyone know why this actually happens?

I find myself in a similar predicament; I am not receiving any notifications regarding replies to my subscribed threads, and I don't even use Yahoo...
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.🙏

Alright, I'm jumping in here too... out of nowhere, my email notifications just stopped showing up, even though everything is clearly set correctly in my settings!😢

Something went sideways with our email system during a recent server migration.
We’re working to get everything back on track as quickly as possible.

We will notify you once it's resolved.

I’ll jump in here as well.
I should probably mention that I've actually opted out of receiving email notifications for new replies.
