And I can't even stay in bed at home. I’ve got this nagging feeling a fever is coming on—my muscles are aching (though, honestly, that might just be from yesterday's workout...) and my head is pounding...
I'm taking some Maximal, and I already popped an Advil. ...
So, what's the verdict? Is this just some random bug going around???

Look, everyone, let’s be serious for a second. With this meningitis outbreak going around, people are panicking over every little thing. You get a slight fever and suddenly you're sprinting to the ER for throat swabs and head tests... it's honestly getting ridiculous. My advice? Just stay put. Avoid going out for the next few days—maybe even fifteen days if you can manage it. It's better to just lay low and deal with whatever virus is floating around.

swiftowl10, quit the whining and just get to work. Shut up, drink whatever over-the-counter crap helps, and get some rest when you finally hit the house. It hasn’t even been a full month since you started this job and now you’re already bellyaching about a common cold. 🙄

Hey now—give the woman a break. It’s not like catching a virus in the middle of winter is some kind of impossible feat. I mean, just look at the weather out there. 😬

Kravitz—just take some Aleve or Maximal... grab some tea... hang in there until the end of the workday and you'll be back on your feet by the weekend.

Honestly, you’d have to be practically delusional not to have caught some kind of virus by now. 😁

That's why I'm putting my two cents in here. 😉

That’s exactly why I’m saying this. 😉

[my hypochondria is back on] I don't have a virus...🤔... BUT I KNEW I WAS SICK! 🙂 [/my hypochondria is back off]

I'm out of here.. 🙂

Man, I’m dealing with all that plus my period, so just imagine feeling like an elephant decided to sit right on your chest.😢 🙄
Then you gotta factor in waking up at the crack of dawn to deal with two incredibly stubborn toddlers😠 😁 , and the snow outside is thicker than this coffee I’m chugging just to feel alive... meanwhile, I'm sitting here joking around with the guys over coffee like everything's fine, so nobody even pities me😢 😕 when I honestly just want to be babied a little bit....
What can I do? It is what it is..

Just get home, wrap yourself in a blanket, make some super strong lemon tea and grab some cookies. What else is there?!

It feels like half the country is coming down with something right now... and with the forecast calling for a cold snap and snow this weekend, things might get worse...
Make sure you're stocking up on things like Emergen-C or Echinacea drops, plus plenty of honey, lemon, oranges, and enough tea to fill a swimming pool. And honestly? Just stay inside.
If those nasty viruses still manage to catch you despite all that, then reach for some Aleve, nasal spray, cough syrup, aspirin, and Vitamin C...
I assume my fellow Formula 1 fans aren't just going to roll over and let a little flu win, right? 🙂

Yeah, pretty much. It doesn't exactly leave a great impression when you're already calling in sick during your first month on the job...😉

Honestly, nothing gets under my skin more than people who show up to work while they’re clearly battling a nasty flu or some viral bug—just sitting there sneezing, coughing, and blowing their noses all day long... all because they think, "it won't look good if I take a sick day right now." Like, seriously? The company isn't going to go bankrupt just because you head home to crash for a day or two... why risk infecting everyone else in your orbit? We actually had this one coworker who showed up with what turned out to be viral pneumonia, purely because she "couldn't afford to miss the pay" from being out. Well, things spiraled, and instead of a couple of days, she ended up out for a whole month... and of course, she managed to pass it on to four other people along the way.

Whenever I eventually have my own business, there is absolutely no way I'm letting anyone show up sick...

My boss is such a massive hypochondriac, too—like, seriously. If anyone even breathes funny or lets out a tiny sneeze, he's immediately sending them home for the day.

But honestly? He actually once drove a coworker all the way back to the office straight from the ER... where the guy ended up getting treated for kidney stones. Just... yeah.😁

I know a guy who would be out on medical leave for anywhere from three to nine months according to your logic.

But then again, there was this one time he actually drove a colleague back to work from the ER—where the guy ended up getting treated for kidney stones... 😁

I mean, what can you even say when your boss is that inconsistent? 😁 It’s honestly the worst kind of 😉

Jose Miller3, there's a massive difference between having the flu and just a sniffle. You have people who act like prima donnas and exploit any excuse to stay home—especially if it's an office job where they can just coast—when half of them aren't even truly sick. Then you have the total extremes who show up even when they're genuinely incapacitated. Neither side is any better than the other...

Exactly—that’s my whole point. We were basically talking about the same thing at the exact same time... 😉

Oh, duh. I mean, obviously you take a sick day if you’re running a fever or if you're basically leaking from every pore... though honestly, most people just burn through their old vacation days instead of calling in sick at that point.

And my boss? Total wildcard. Completely inconsistent with how they handle stuff. 😁
