Honestly, even for me, it felt a little too quiet🙄

.....and that heavy guy? Everything felt way too soft, just sort of sung through... and I don't know if anyone else caught it, but at one point he totally lost his voice...

...and those drums.... ugh, if they had just cranked it up a notch.... whatever, maybe I should've grabbed a spot in the front row... but hey, age is catching up to me, my own damn fault,,, but then again, they aren't exactly old either, and I'm not exactly ancient myself😁 😁 😁

Everything would've been better if the show was held in NYC; the drive out here just kills the vibe for me... plus the lack of drinks...😉

All in all, it could have been a whole lot, lot better.... sigh🙄

Word on the street is about 4,000.
The only thing that really threw me off was how static the band was on stage... it felt like such a weird contrast to their music and honestly, to the crowd too. I mean, it was a great show overall (aside from that awkward moment at the end of the first encore), even if the Pixies aren't exactly the band I grew up listening to during my teenage years. 😁 You could tell how much they still mean to people, though... especially to Americans. 😁👋

Well, that's just how they play. No soul, no improvisation... they just show up, play their set, and call it a night. Always been that way.
I haven't seen them live lately, but I've got some old concert recordings.
What are you even asking? If you want a real show, go see Lipse. 🙂 😍 👍

And they actually want breaks between songs? Like, do they expect the Pixies to stop mid-set just to tell them they’re the best crowd ever or how happy they are to be there? Or maybe they want to—God forbid—sing along? Honestly, the whole idol worship thing has never been my style. Those four could be total garbage for all I care, but they put on a damn good, perfectly timed show.
As for anyone thinking Bossanov is some masterpiece and whining because it didn't get enough love or complaining about the tracklist order... that's just a pretty biased way to look at things.
I got screwed over by people in Canada. When you ask for your change back in dollars, they suddenly get all rude, even though you'd expect everything in the US to be handled in our own currency. What am I supposed to do with their useless local scraps? Then, to top it off, those assholes made us wait outside the entrance in the rain for half an hour. Their highways are pitch black and basically death traps when visibility gets low. The Union and Laško brands are absolute trash.
Regarding the ban on bringing beer into the venue, that's been the standard practice at the Križanko arena for ages, so it didn't really shock me. It's a pretty stupid rule, though—they ban plastic cups, so then you just have crowds smuggling in glass bottles, which is a hundred times more dangerous. But that's what happens when people focus on following pointless formalities in silly situations, only to toss them aside the second it becomes inconvenient or dumb.

Look, Laški is top-tier beer... don't disrespect it like that!
but honestly, that Canadian stuff is total garbage.🙂

It’s a good thing we won't have too many Slovenacs or American hanging around here. I'm calling it now: this concert is going to be awesome. 😁

😕 🙄

Now I’m starting to see why that guy said that thing about being professional...🙄

For God's sake, where do you live? Paying in a currency that isn't even the official one in the country, and then having them give you the same stuff back—you'd only see that in Mexico, which is basically stuck ten years in the past. 🙄 😁

In Mexico, people rarely carry around small change, so I doubt you'll see those cents returned anytime soon—though honestly, how late they are or who they owe is pretty debatable.

The concert? I don't really get the complaints about the sound. Maybe it sounded different elsewhere, but from where I was standing at the mixer, it was loud, crisp, and intense; nothing bothered me. As for Vidmar and that whole sense of American camaraderie, my experiences at similar shows in places like the Fillmore or Madison Square Garden have ranged from getting my jaw broken to walking away with various angry bruises and scrapes, whereas I never had an issue playing shows in Ljubljana. There were plenty of people there seeing a venue like this for the first time, so they weren't exactly thinking about the stairs. I guess that level of caution and awareness from the crowd is rare these days, but combined with their Ramones-style non-stop playing, it gave off this charming eighties vibe—back when you didn't feel forced to get hammered and jump around like a kangaroo on everyone else's backs. Americans and Slovenacs alike deserve some credit for that.

The heavy guy was amazing, shifting from an angel to a devil; the heavy girl probably shouldn't have said that one line, the skinny punk played the best solo in history, and gritty Lovering held his own while the pros took over. Whether it's for the money or just some cheap hot dogs, it doesn't matter. I guess we've all finally grown up...

I actually had a great time—the sound was pretty solid too. I spent a couple of sets standing just a few rows back from the stage. Look, I’m not a fan of ear-splitting noise, so what works for me might be a total headache for someone else, I guess... but honestly? That chunky, heavy sound is exactly my vibe. Forget all that thin, dated stuff and the "pretty" personas. I’ll take the unconventional look any day.

Ahem, just saying... plus-sized people can be incredibly attractive too.

Sure, but honestly? Choosing to gain weight and just not be some perfectly sculpted specimen—that’s probably the last real act of subversion left. Everything else is totally mainstream now—showing skin at the Super Bowl, filming music videos featuring mud wrestling, or posing on stage with other girls... If someone like Madonna actually wanted to shock the world today, she shouldn't have bothered competing with Britney or Kim. She should've just shown up to an event with, I don't know, hairy legs. For real—she should've dropped a video where she had hairy legs. Now *that* would be a true middle finger to society and all this fake morality, instead of this cheap, predictable stuff we see everywhere.

That's a different story entirely. Personally, I’d much rather focus on her cleavage than some massive cleavage bust... it just hits better right away.

You must be a huge fan of Morris when he sings "you're the one for me, fatty, you're the one I really, really... you're the one for me, fatty!" 🙂
