So, my allergic rhinitis is officially making its seasonal debut—it’s already happening. My nose is completely stuffed up, and I’m stuck breathing through my mouth like some sort of prehistoric cave dweller. Is it really starting this early? I can't see any visible changes outside, but I can certainly feel spring creeping in. Honestly, I don't care if my sinuses are a disaster zone; I just want the sunshine. 😁

Are you guys dealing with the usual suspects—pollen, grass, weeds? Fortunately, ragweed doesn't usually start messing with me until late August. 🙄

Ah, so I've officially joined the allergy club too... though my symptoms are significantly milder these days.
I went through five years of allergy shots—immunotherapy—so what I deal with now is nothing compared to the absolute nightmare I faced back in my school days...

Is it really blooming already? I don't see anything outside yet, but I can definitely feel spring in the air. Honestly, even if my nose is completely blocked, I just want that sunshine... 😁

I heard on the news today😍 that ash trees have started blooming. No clue what that actually means for us, but... yeah, just thought you should know...

I’m definitely allergic to some kind of pollen too... though I honestly have no clue which one specifically. All I know is that during the spring, I can't even hang out in a local park for a bit without starting to sneeze my head off, getting all watery-eyed, and running my nose like crazy... it's seriously gross.😢
Last year, I actually managed to dial back the symptoms a little by using that Dr. Pepper nasal ointment you just apply right inside your nose.

BTW, I have a family member who deals with really severe allergies and they went through immunotherapy, and they're feeling way better now. Apparently, acupuncture can help too, provided you start the treatment early enough—because once everything starts blooming, it's basically too late.

I’ve heard that a spray called "Nasonex" works wonders for allergic rhinitis... I think that was the name, though I can't seem to track down my own prescription at the moment...

I’ve been using Flonase lately. I actually switched over to Tarceva because my ENT insisted there was a real risk of developing nasal polyps—which, honestly, sounds like a total nightmare 😲—and apparently, this helps prevent them.
As far as pills go, I’m on Fexofenadine (and let me tell you, those things are massive compared to the tiny little Claritin tablets we're used to).
The catch is that I really should be staying on this regimen all year round, but I decided to take matters into my own hands and quit everything over the winter. I'm just getting back into the swing of things now. A bit late to the party, I suppose, but hopefully, it’ll still do the trick. 😁

Yeah, I do. I've been sneezing my head off all day—still am, actually—so I guess it's officially Claritin season. That means keeping the windows shut and staying out of the damn sun. :i hate the sun:

I’m dealing with this dust mite allergy and honestly? Nothing works. I went to see my doctor, and she suggested some spray you’re supposed to coat the whole mattress with—but what a joke. 😠 I’ve sprayed it a few times now, but maybe it helps for a couple of days before everything goes right back to being miserable. For the last few nights, I’ve been waking up coughing and gasping like crazy—my throat just feels totally choked up with mucus. It's gross...
I tried using Nasacort for a while, too, but I didn't really notice any real difference...
I am just so over this. 🙂

Nasacort actually helps me, but I guess it's only if I take it non-stop. Once I finally stop, it takes like three weeks before I even notice a change. Honestly, I'm pretty fed up too.😢

I'm just over it at this point. 🙂

Alright, I'll share something, but please don't laugh. 😉
My dog has a massive allergy to dust mites—it was brutal.
We went through a mountain of veterinarians and got zero help. I tried a million different sprays that would provide temporary relief... but nothing actually fixed it.
Two months ago, our vet informed us they'd developed a vaccine for mite allergies, so we got her vaccinated. Since then? Zero issues.
I know it sounds ridiculous since we're talking about a dog, but who knows—they might roll out something similar for humans...

We went through countless vets and nothing worked—I tried every spray under the sun just to get her some temporary relief, but nothing actually cured it.
Then, about two months ago, our vet told us they finally had an allergy vaccine for dust mites, so we gave it to her. Since then? Zero issues!
I know it sounds silly since we're talking about a dog, but wouldn't it be possible they develop something similar for humans too?

Man, if only they’d invent that for people... 🙂 I went through endless doctor appointments myself—they even suspected asthma for a while, thank God that wasn't it—but honestly, I'm still struggling big time. 😠

I totally get how much allergies can suck.
I struggled with them for about 30 years, trying every single remedy under the sun.
Spring, summer, and that dry fall period were always my worst enemies, while winter was usually a bit easier to handle.

Just about a year ago, I started using Advair Accuhaler (that 500/50 combo of Flonase and Salmeterol from Allen & Company) along with some Nasonex nasal spray containing Qvar, produced by GlaxoSmithKline. I think Pfizer makes something similar under a different label, but the ingredients are what really matter. Honestly, it’s been a total game-changer for me. I used to take it twice a day, but now I’ve managed to scale back to just once daily. It sounds crazy, but it’s true—maybe it’ll help someone else out here, too. I know the drill: the stuffed-up nose, the constant dripping, the sneezing fits, eyes watering like crazy, and that general feeling of being completely on edge. I don't deal with all that anymore, though I wouldn't say I'm "cured"—it's more like I have to keep up with this routine, probably for the rest of my life. Luckily, I'm getting older, so maybe I won't have to deal with it forever! Just wanted to share because I truly feel for everyone dealing with this mess.
Best regards.

Aapchiha😢 I usually start feeling the symptoms by late February. I’m stuck dealing with constant congestion, sneezing, and coughing all the way through the end of autumn... It’s exhausting. Last year, I actually got a tip from a local herbalist on how to handle it—apparently, if you start taking small amounts of bee pollen in January, it can actually prevent the allergy from kicking in. They even let me try a little bit, and honestly, it worked wonders! Now, I can’t find any anywhere. From what I hear, beekeepers don't harvest them until late summer.🙄

I used it for a while myself, but one night my nose just completely slammed shut. I spent the entire night gasping for air like a fish out of water! Ever since then, I haven't touched it. Maybe I shouldn't have given up on it so easily... 🙂

Dealing with allergies is the worst, so if you're struggling too, I’d honestly suggest looking into calcium supplements—I've been taking a specific brand, three tablets a day. I started last year and haven't stopped because, honestly, I feel so much better now.

Just kidding—calcium really does make a difference.

I honestly can't even look at anything today. My eyes feel like they're in a total zombie state—just incredibly itchy and inflamed. 😢

It's just how it goes whenever I take a walk outside. Even though the sunshine looks absolutely gorgeous out there... 🙄 😁

Acupuncture actually did the trick for me. No clue how long the relief is gonna last, though.

It’s funny, though... when I step outside for a walk, the sunshine feels absolutely gorgeous. 🙄 😁

Honestly, I look like a boiled lobster right now. My eyes are all cloudy and red, my nose won't stop running, and everything just stings and itches constantly. To make matters worse, I'm not even sleepy—it's more like I have zero energy to even keep my head upright.

I haven't picked up any nasal sprays yet, so I'll start with Claritin and then maybe switch to Fexofenadine if that doesn't do the trick. Looks like I'll be living on pharmacy supplies again.👎

But I honestly don't get how you can develop allergies once you're already an adult. Like, I haven’t been allergic to anything my entire life—but over the last few years, I’ve noticed cat fur is starting to bother me more, and then there's dust... at this rate, I'm just waiting for the day I suddenly become allergic to ragweed too. 😠
