AT&T vs. Broadway vs. AMC vs. Movie Theater

Bringing this poll back from the dead—maybe there are still some folks out there who haven't seen it yet and would want to cast a vote.

I voted for the cinematographers...

I've always been used to "real" theaters😁

These massive multiplexes just rub me the wrong way... they're all about the bottom line...

I can't stand those lobbies where everything looks identical—none of that cozy center vibe, just that overwhelming buzz right before the movie starts... the crowds...

And then there are those seats... feels more like a cheap motel than a theater🙄

They aren't exactly comfortable either... at least not the ones at Broadway... the ones at the A1 Gallery are passable, I guess...

Plus, I hate stepping out of the theater and instead of catching a breath of fresh air, you're just hitting a wall of smoke...

I prefer the social atmosphere😉
The latest high-tech sound system isn't my priority... nor is having a seat so comfy I could fall asleep... though I can sleep anywhere, even in those hard, uncomfortable chairs😁

I have to get this off my chest...

It’s truly fascinating how everyone was so quick to sign those petitions to save our local theaters—ranging from total nobodies to celebrities who were clearly just looking for a photo op—but then, when the historic Grand Theater pulls off this incredible initiative by screening the most relevant film out right now (Tarantino: resistant to death) for just $6.75, I’m sitting there with maybe ten other people.

Does anyone else actually remember when that theater was the crown jewel of our city? Because I certainly do.

So, I’m making a plea to anyone who hasn't been completely blinded by flashy red carpets and shiny escalators: please support what the Grand Theater is doing. They really need it right now. Even if you didn't have plans, just go to the movies; I feel like it’s high time we give back at least a little bit of what we owe to such an icon.🍿

Does nobody else remember when that old theater downtown used to be the absolute best cinema in town? I still think about it.

Even if you weren't planning on going, just go to the movies. It’s about time we pay back at least a fraction of what we owe to these old theaters.🍿
