Seriously such a killer movie. Sharon is just stunning—it's honestly heartbreaking seeing what happens to her later on. And Polanski? He’s so incredibly charming in those white shorts, looking totally lost. The atmosphere is spot on, too—it really feels like you're right there hanging out with them. I wouldn't call it a horror flick, though; more like something whimsical and dreamy. Plus, the soundtrack is amazing, everything is just 👍

"Exactly one year ago tonight, we were all right here in this very room.
Me, your pastor, and all of you—my dear congregation. I had so much hope in my heart back then,
when I promised you that with a little help from Lucifer, we’d be looking forward to a much more delicious occasion.
Just think back for a second. We were all sitting there, feeling pretty miserable and depressed,
huddled up around that one pathetic little woodcutter..."

🙏 seriously one of the best horror comedies ever made....

That freaking scene where Shagal turns into a vampire, starts sucking on the waitress, she shows him her teeth, and he goes, "Oy vey, have you got the wrong vampire," before lunging at her—man, I can't! It kills me every time.

And there are thousands of other hilariously absurd little details... for instance:
when they’re practicing driving stakes into pillows and Alfred hits his own finger with the hammer; then in the very next scene, you see the old man coming down the stairs with his finger wrapped up way too heavily...
or
that bit where they're eating at the tavern, and the old man breaks off a chunk of cheese, but a tiny piece snaps off and falls onto the table, so he just keeps stabbing at it with his fork (or knife) until he finally catches it...

The movie is bloody... absolutely ridiculous, hilarious, and feels like some twisted fairy tale.

Haha, I think I’ve definitely noticed that before, too. lol.
It's an excellent movie with such a brilliant atmosphere.

Seriously, this movie is pure genius. I used to have it on VHS like 10 or 15 years ago and I swear I must've watched it a hundred times. I need to go hunt down a copy ASAP. Gosh, that scene where Von Krolock's son is such a total dork trying to hit on his future victims... classic...

Honestly, that scene kills me—where he walks into the room while the Count is playing chess by himself, and then the professor just slams his bag right onto the table without even blinking 😁

And man, I absolutely love the whole sequence at the vampire ball where everyone is dancing and trying to talk to each other. It’s so freaking good how they all get totally confused when they spin around and realize they didn't run into who they thought they were, but instead bumped straight into one of the vampires 🤣

Sarah Edwards38 said:The ballroom sequence is exceptional. Watching everyone attempt to socialize while dancing is pure chaos. It’s almost comedic how they spin around only to collide with a vampire instead of the person they actually intended to meet. 🤣

😬
Then the professor tells Sharon— "Honey, a little blood transfusion and you'll feel like a new woman...!"
And Polanski offers that same naive sentiment: "The world makes sense again. We're going to save you!"
Sweet. 😍

Still, Sharon is incredibly striking in that scene where she explains to a bewildered Polanski that she needs to use his bathroom. Between the freckles, that effortlessly messy hair, and those eyes...

The moment he finds her behind the curtain after the speech? Pure magic. And honestly, through that whole dance sequence, she is just breathtaking. I almost teared up watching it yesterday just thinking about how much they messed up such a beautiful thing.

Oh, and that damn scene where the Count's son starts creeping after the assistant—the guy is running for his life, then the son just waits for him right there in the gallery while he comes charging back in. 😁

That red dress looked stunning on her. And that yellow one they picked out for the blonde? Truly questionable.😁 As for those Sharonites, I still get chills just thinking about them. Truly horrific.

Is Sinead Gaypedder actually a genius? Perhaps.🙏 Those little swirls on his sleeves—and that way he placed his hand on her shoulder? So tender. Is there any real grace left in this world? Like a bird landing on a branch. Does anything ever truly stay still?...

Honestly, this might be the best-looking movie ever put to film.

I wonder which version they ended up airing on NBC?

Man, those old-school classics... they really hit different, though I struggle to wrap my head around some of them sometimes, but god, there are so many ridiculous moments. Like, remember that scene where that hulking brute takes out the wolf and then just snaps his head around with those blood-stained teeth? Or when Dracula’s son is breathing down Polanski's neck during that chase? And don't even get me started on the part where Polanski is peeking through the keyhole, watching Dracula sink his fangs into that girl's neck, and he just makes this face like he just swallowed a gallon of sour milk... truly legendary stuff.
