Amy Lewis73 said:Can anyone recommend a good specialist for a kidney ultrasound?

So far, I’ve found three options online: Kvarantan Clinic, Dr. Tarle’s office which offers color Doppler ultrasounds, and Sunce Clinic.

Has anyone here actually used any of these places?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, Dr. Tarle is an LOM/General Practitioner, and honestly, you can't always count on the ultrasound quality at those types of offices.
Besides, you can get this kind of scan done practically on every street corner in the US.

Can someone recommend a good dermatologist in Rijeka?

I've suddenly broken out with these tiny bumps all over my face. I'm 20 now, and I'm pretty sure it's just a side effect from the birth control I started.-.-

I’m looking to get some honest feedback regarding the general practitioners over at the Remetinečki Gaj Health Center. From what I know, there are two main offices available:

Dr. Javorić, Hida and
Dr. Gjud, Ksenija

If anyone here has actually sat on the exam table with either of them, please—drop a comment. I’d also appreciate any leads on other family doctors in this part of town that might have slipped under my radar.

Hvala!

Hey, does anyone happen to know—from their own experience, anyway—where I can actually go to order or find a specific orthopedic specialist who focuses specifically on elbows here in the US? Like, looking for someone really specialized...

Thanks!

Don't bother with Tarle. They tend to run behind schedule, and then they'll charge you $267 for a full 15-minute consultation plus the ultrasound (which basically means about 10 minutes of talking and maybe 5 minutes for the scan itself).

Does anyone have a recommendation for a specialist in Chicago who actually knows what they're doing regarding alopecia? Ideally, someone you can see through an insurance referral, though I'm willing to go private if they're truly an expert in the field. 🙂

If you need to see Dr. Ivica Klapan at the Klapan Clinic over on 191 Ilica, honestly, he’s top-tier. The guy is super gentle and takes the time to actually walk you through everything so you aren't left guessing. Plus, he won't absolutely wreck your bank account. If you play your cards right, you might even snag a spot through the public system since he does some consulting work out of the local clinic—but he moves around a bit like a visiting professor, so you have to catch him at the right time.🙂

The health center over on Baruna Filipovića is pretty close to you. If being nearby is a big deal, just walk over there, grab the names and numbers, and give them a call to see who’s actually taking new patients.

I personally go to the clinic over in Trešnjevka to see Dr. Rauški Naglić. He’s a solid doctor—really doesn't skimp on the meds or the referrals and everything you need. The only thing is, he struggles with walking a bit, so I'm guessing he'll be heading into retirement pretty soon. On the other hand, the new nurse, Darija, is just awful. She’s rude, constantly glued to her computer... honestly, as good as the doctor is, the nursing staff is a total letdown. You're more likely to find her on Facebook than actually get a hold of her on the phone.🙄

I've scouted the web and found three solid options so far: Kvarantan Clinic, Dr. Tarle's office (they do color Doppler ultrasound), and Sunce Clinic.

Is Dr. Erceg over at Supernova Clinic a radiologist? That guy who does ultrasounds and reads the scans is actually amazing. I went there myself for some neck issues—the nurse was checking out some lumps. Give him a call and see if he handles kidney ultrasounds too. 👍👍

Amy Garcia38 said:I’m not offering a recommendation here, just a warning on where NOT to go.

So, this is about Dr. Helena Šimurina's office in the Horvaćanski area of the US. The woman is a top-tier doctor, but she hasn't been there for over two years—maybe maternity leave?—and she’s being replaced by a rotating cast of incompetents...

Yeah, she's a "top-tier" doctor who coldly allows a patient in their mid-thirties to be incapacitated for over two years due to constant, unbearable pelvic and leg pain, following a year of left groin pain... because:

a) they don't even perform an exam—NEVER.
b) they finish the diagnostic process but don't bother sending the results to a surgeon at all.
c) when asked what that swelling in the groin might be, the response is: "I really don't know."
d) after seeing a physiatrist, orthopedist, neurologist, and neurosurgeon, the patient is told: "I honestly have no idea where else to send you; you'll have to figure it out yourselves."
e) When the patient suggests seeing a surgeon, the reply is: "Why would you see a surgeon? You know, surgeons don't like thinking, they just like cutting."

Anyway, when that same patient (after three years of pain and roughly $67 spent on various private specialists and useless therapies) takes the initiative to visit a specialized clinic in Germany, it turns out the unsolvable mystery was—an INGUINAL HERNIA!!! The surgeon in Germany couldn't believe it hadn't even been checked.

The only actual competent doctor in that whole office is Dr. Božica Kolundžić, but unfortunately, she's retired and rarely covers for Dr. Šimurina.

Hey everyone!

Can someone please point me toward a decent general practitioner at a public health center in downtown? I’m talking about someone actually kind, professional, and attentive—not some private clinic type. I really need to switch doctors and could use some solid recommendations. Thanks in advance!🙂

Hey everyone.
I just moved over to Savica, so I'm looking for a decent GP at the Savica Health Center (Ljerka Šram 2). Anyone have recommendations on who I should sign up with? I need someone professional and actually polite—and please, tell me they don't run an hour behind schedule. Is it even possible to find a doctor who sees maybe two patients an hour? Thanks. 🙂

Hello,

I am quite unhappy with my current primary care physician and would like to switch to someone else. I don't have any complex medical needs—I'm generally healthy—but I do take one medication that requires regular refills via prescription.
My main goal is to find a doctor whose office staff actually answers the phone so I can schedule appointments, doesn't spend my time gossiping about trivial things, responds promptly to my requests without being overly intrusive, and keeps appointments relatively on schedule rather than running two hours late.

I live in the Brodarica area, so if you could recommend someone who isn't on the complete opposite side of town,🙂

Thank you!

Might be slightly off-topic here... Does anyone have recommendations for a private clinic where I can get a leg ultrasound? I need some therapy to clear up a hematoma and heal a muscle strain. Ideally somewhere in the Midwest, because honestly, the local hospitals are a total amateur hour right now.

Can anyone recommend a solid dermatologist in the US area, assuming I have a referral? And ideally, someone where I won't be stuck on a two-month waiting list...🙄

Anyone know a solid private eye doctor in Osijek? So, I need surgery for something right above my eye—not actually on the eyeball itself. The ophthalmology clinic here in Osijek told me they don't handle stuff like this because it's been there since birth and needs anesthesia, so they suggested I head over to the Mayo Clinic in Chicago instead. Has anyone dealt with private specialists in Osijek, or am I better off just going to Zg for the procedure? Hvala🙂

Does anyone have a recommendation for a private rheumatologist in the greater Los Angeles area? I can't wait until next month at the Mayo Clinic—they won't even give me a solid date, and I've already been sitting around for weeks just waiting for them to tell me when my appointment is actually happening...

hollowowl10 said:Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable private ophthalmologist in Osijek? To clarify, the procedure isn't actually on the eyeball itself, but involves a growth located immediately above the eye. When I consulted the ophthalmology department in Osijek, they informed me that they don't perform this specific type of surgery. Since the growth has been there since birth, the procedure requires general anesthesia, which is why they advised me to head over to the Mayo Clinic in Chicago instead. Has anyone here had experience working with private specialists in Osijek, or would it be wiser to travel to Chicago to have this handled at the Mayo Clinic? Thank you.🙂

If I were in that position, I would choose to go to the Mayo Clinic. 👍

I am honestly not certain if anyone even sees patients privately for this, given how expensive immunological testing can be.
The department you are looking for is also available at the Dubrava Clinic, so you might want to check there to see how soon they can fit you in.
In a situation like this, the most effective approach is usually to visit their facility in person to see what kind of arrangements can be made.

I don't even know how many times I've asked this, but does anyone have a solid recommendation for a general practitioner? All I really care about is that they're located here in the city; honestly, the specific neighborhood doesn't matter much to me. Any leads? Please!
