Maybe try the clinic on Sarengradski. Check their website—they usually list everything they have available. Honestly, the lab work there is painless, which is nice. If you're already one of their patients, you can get pretty much everything handled through them. Most places are still accepting people, to be fair.

Maybe try the Downtown Center on Sarengradska. Check their website—it'll tell you everything about who's available. That clinic makes blood draws painless, too. If you're already one of their patients, you can get basically everything done there. Honestly, most doctors should be accepting people; you just have to talk to the actual doctor, not the nurse. Anyone managing 1,700 patients really ought to be taking more folks in.

I saw some posters listing clinics that have openings, but I can't recall the exact addresses. I think a few were located downtown. There was one posted on the clinic door over on Main Street, right on the corner by the Tiskov newsstand.

Is it actually possible to take a referral from a primary care physician in one city and use it to book an appointment with a specialist in the public health system in a completely different city, even if that exact same specialist is available locally?

I’m specifically asking about an ophthalmology exam (an AT&T referral).
To give you some context, my father is currently living in the Midwest and is quite unhappy with his current ophthalmologist, so he’s looking to schedule an appointment somewhere else entirely.
Can I just call a clinic in Washington, D.C. (like the Mayo Clinic or something over in Brooklyn) and request a slot for him?

The referral should be visible to everyone in the system. You definitely won't be able to book him over the phone, though—it's strictly via email, fax, or showing up in person. I suppose you should check the specific hospital's website for their booking instructions. Also, just a heads up, Medicare isn't going to cover his travel expenses.

My son was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel syndrome while he was traveling abroad based on some—well, not even all—of his tests, and honestly, we haven't gotten much else out of it. We're looking for someone here in the US, anywhere really. Private practice is totally fine too.

But let's be clear: if the diagnosis is actually IBS (Irritable Bowel syndrome, then we're not talking about Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

IBD includes things like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis—you can find a good breakdown here:

Thanks. Yeah, my bad, I messed up the wording—even the folks around here seem to trip over the terminology sometimes. So, the current diagnosis is definitely IBS. I need someone who actually understands what that means instead of just tossing antidepressants at him and calling it a day. He isn't crazy or depressed, he’s just dropped below 90 pounds and looks like a walking corpse. I just really need to help my kid.
