Melissa Sullivan said:And Vuk Vrhovec, there’s definitely less of a crowd there.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not so sure if it's actually less crowded there for kids.
But she should just try everywhere from Rib, Vinogradski, Klaićev, to Vuk Vrhovec—not sure about Holy Spirit.

Specifically, I’m currently dealing with high blood pressure at Mercury under Dr. Prkačin. I can't recommend her enough; nobody else has taken such a serious approach to this issue. She even confirmed my insulin resistance and weight loss struggles.

The same doctor referred me to an endocrinologist, Dr. Bulum, also at Mercury. His approach was a total disaster—absolutely useless. He just gave me a quick glance and concluded my weight issues were simply due to overeating. That was it. He just told me to stick to a 1,200-calorie diet because, apparently, "you just need to eat less." 🤦

So, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a specific physician who actually takes patient care seriously.

I've seen quite a few good reviews for Dr. Mirošević at Vinogradski, so I might consider booking an appointment with her.

Greetings, I have a bit of a question regarding medical logistics. If I happen to give birth outside of my primary residence—let’s say my official address is in Chicago, but the baby is born in Indianapolis where we might be staying for about six months—and I go ahead and register a pediatrician there in Indianapolis, would it be possible to switch to a pediatrician back in Chicago within a year? Regarding all the paperwork, I don't intend to report a change of residence or alter any of my official filings.

Has anyone here actually seen Dr. Vrban Filip? He's a neurosurgeon over at the Sister of Mercy hospital near Vinogradska. Would love to hear some first-hand experiences. Thanks!

Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m dealing with several orthopedic issues—specifically involving both knees, my shoulder, and my hand—and I would like to get as much imaging done via MRI as possible. I am also considering some follow-up checks regarding my thyroid.

My question is this: Is it possible to purchase an annual insurance policy from a private clinic where I pay a set fee upfront, and then use referrals from my primary care physician to schedule these tests over several visits? I am trying to avoid waiting years for appointments through the public healthcare system.

Did you end up finding a decent endocrinologist? I’m dealing with similar issues, so I’m searching as well.

Not yet. Based on what I've seen, Dr. Mirošević and Dr. Božek have some positive reviews.
I'll keep digging... I definitely need a second opinion (my nephrologist insisted I get one from an endocrinologist anyway).

Hey moderators—honestly, I don't think merging this thread is the best move. There's just way too much specialization happening here for anyone to actually find what they're looking for in one giant, lumped-together topic.

I’m looking for some advice—does anyone know a good physiatrist who actually understands knee braces for osteoarthritis and patella issues? Ideally, someone I could see through a referral from my insurance. I already went to see a specialist privately, and she just told me to go buy something over the counter?! I actually did that, but honestly, it hasn't helped at all; it feels completely useless.

I’m going to write this down here. Primamed refuses to help someone they specifically told to come in for an exam, which is just incredibly unpleasant. They basically just push you toward the ER, even though, well, they have a duty to help as doctors. We brought everything they asked for. And if they needed anything else later, we would have sent it right over. It was just rude and arrogant—it feels like they don't care at all about what happens to the patient they were supposed to be assisting. They seem to be making up excuses just to avoid performing a very simple exam that takes maybe three to five minutes. It isn't even dangerous. But, I guess, they clearly have their own reasons. I only asked for a single image; honestly, it could have been without even reading the data if that was such a huge struggle for them. There was nobody else there. Just one person leaving. So, they definitely had the time to help, but they simply didn't want to.

The first time we went, they were actually polite and seemed genuinely willing to help, which is why we asked if they could do a quick search for us this time and agreed to swing by in a few hours. But after showing up at Primamed this time around, it was just pure rudeness, arrogance, and condescension—they didn't want to do a single thing. It’s like they literally don't care about anything. There weren't even any other patients around, just one person leaving, so they really could have helped if they had actually wanted to, especially since it would have only taken five minutes. That's just what any decent person would do, and honestly, it's what they're obligated to do as doctors.

Greetings,
I find myself wondering if anyone here might share their firsthand experiences regarding the Ligament clinic in Chicago? Specifically, I am inquiring about myofascial therapy in the context of managing a herniated disc. Could you perhaps describe what the treatment process entails, whether the procedure itself is painful, and how effective the results have been for you? My sincerest thanks in advance!

I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a rheumatologist or an immunologist—it looks like I might be dealing with lupus—located in Washington, D.C., though I am certainly open to suggestions anywhere else in the US. Thanks!

My doctor keeps raving about Dr. Smith over at the Mayo Clinic. A member of her own family deals with an autoimmune condition and sees him regularly...

Thanks

Hey everyone, I need an X-ray of my lumbar spine—where in Washington, D.C. can I get this done quickly using a referral?
The local clinic in Brooklyn has its first opening on June 10th, which is a bit too late for me since I'm already scheduled with a physiotherapist on June 2nd.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find an appointment within about three weeks or so?
