The Pledge of Allegiance

I was scrolling through the movie list on this forum and noticed that PLEDGE isn't even listed here.

Well, I just finished watching it, and honestly, I am still reeling from the absolute shock of how it ended.

I’m curious—has anyone else seen this one? Do you feel the same way I do?

I checked some reviews on Amazon, and it looks like I'm not alone; tons of people gave it a 1-star rating specifically because they hated the ending.

And man, the cast is absolutely powerhouse.

Jack Nicholson
Mickey Rourke
Vanessa Redgrave
Sam Shepard
Helen Mirren
Robin Wright Penn

Produced by Seann Penn

Based on a book, too.

It’s such a brilliant story with incredible acting, but then... ali KRAAAAAAAAJ. That ending.

😲 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

Good grief, what a massive letdown.😢

It felt nonsensical, absurd, unfair, illogical, and just completely unnatural.

What a total rip-off... I mean, how is it even possible to ruin a movie like this? It’s so gripping, intriguing, and intense while you're watching it, only to be sabotaged at the very last second.
??????????????????????????????????????????

...it's not Jack's fault the guy just went for it...Personally, I thought the ending was totally 👍 ...

...just like how I dug the ending of this movie too...

So, does Helen Mirren go topless?

I honestly can't figure out why people think the ending was weird; if anything, it was fantastic.
There’s always a chance the killer just dies like that, but since movies usually demand some big final showdown, this felt a bit more grounded in reality.

The movie is fantastic, and man, that ending? Absolutely mind-blowing.
As for those Amazon units... honestly, who gives a shit?

I mean, I was kind of hoping for a different ending, but honestly? I had to admit to myself that the predictable route would’ve just been... trash.
The movie itself is awesome, though.
Plus, it's literally called "The Pledge" (so it makes sense that the whole point is about the grit needed to keep a vow) rather than something like "Forest Showdown"...

If you think that’s the most bizarre ending you’ve ever seen in a movie, then you clearly haven't experienced the madness of Mount Olympus by Alejandar Jodorowski 😲

Or maybe even Alejandar Jodorowski or Jet Li's "The One" 😁

Alright, Anthony Bailey,
worth a watch
😳
