I'm honestly not sure why you're bringing up homeopathy when you clearly don't even grasp the fundamental principle behind how a homeopathic remedy is prepared...😕

Wild Card said:Look, your intention is totally fine 🙂, but we’ve already covered the whole science vs. homeopathy debate over on the Science forum, and honestly, those discussions usually just devolve into people shouting at each other without actually getting anywhere. If anyone wants to dive into that rabbit hole, the link is right there. People come to this Health forum specifically because they want to hear about actual personal experiences with homeopathy—nothing more, nothing less. If you're looking to dissect data or try to debunk proofs, please just take that conversation back to the Science board.

I'm with you there; everything has its own place. 😉

darkbison81 said:The universities in Paris are top-tier, and over in France, you can actually pick up homeopathic remedies at pharmacies—they even get partially covered by insurance. Though, they slashed those reimbursements this year because they officially deemed them ineffective. At least, that's the official word from the insurance providers.
Regarding the actual ingredients and efficacy—I’m pointing you back to that science forum discussion. There are plenty of skeptics over there who have cited actual research studies.
Have you even read that thread? I highly doubt it.

darkbison81, you're a smart girl. And as such, you know exactly how much money and which massive corporations are pulling the strings behind decisions like these.

I won't weigh in on how they "proved" the lack of efficacy—I don't know enough about the science to play judge. I just know that back in 2004, Germany really took a hit on the list of things basic health insurance would cover.

Yet, homeopathy is still hanging around.

I'm not going to get bogged into how they actually proved the lack of efficacy, since I'm no expert on that. All I know is that back in 2004, Germany absolutely gutted the list of things covered by basic health insurance.

But homeopathy? That stayed on the list.

Intelligence and common sense have nothing to do with this discussion; I was simply stating what the French healthcare system thinks about homeopathy. It’s purely unbiased information: after years of testing on the general public, their national insurance concluded it wasn't worth paying for a single cent...
I didn't conduct the tests myself, so I can't speak to the specific credibility of their data.

I didn't run the tests myself, so I can't vouch for the credibility.

Wow, getting pretty serious now... who are you trying to fool?

Over here in America, there's a saying:

Don't believe any statistics 😉

Don't believe any statistics you haven't manipulated yourself.

Over here in America, there's a saying that actually makes sense:

😕 !?!?
a) There’s one thing: when someone just shares an opinion.
b) And then there's another thing: when someone presents an official report (or any kind of hard data).

With option B, you have the choice to comment or just stay silent. I chose to comment—specifically questioning the credibility of the info—but instead, you’re out here accusing me of being deceptive. We can agree to disagree, I guess.

But honestly, if you're going to lecture me about homeopathy without even grasping the basic concept of dilutions, you aren't exactly carrying much weight in my book...

The study wasn't some commissioned hit job. It was a conclusion drawn after years of tracking what health insurance companies actually paid out.
When you look at manufacturing and profits, some of the biggest players in the homeopathic space are based in France (and some are private entities).
Why jump to condemn a result—any result in life, really—before you've even had a chance to analyze it? That’s just being irresponsible and unprofessional.

Anyone can blindly swallow whatever narrative suits them best. Personally, I prefer to stay informed and weigh different pieces of data before making up my mind. It's easy to spin a conspiracy theory, lack actual evidence, and cling to your initial assumptions. I'd rather test my own beliefs and adjust them when they're proven wrong.

At this point, this debate isn't even about homeopathy anymore...

Hey, look, darkbison81, it’s just a healthy dose of skepticism... and a necessary one. Especially since I know how medical studies actually work (and other 😉 stuff). They rely on pre-selecting tested samples... plus a few other methods. It’s all pretty easy to manipulate if you want to. 😉

I don't trust Big Pharma one bit. It’s just massive brainwashing—"take this vitamin, it'll save you, it'll fix this..."
Look, it’s an industry just like any other. And I know how these things work because that's how I make my living... all that matters is the bottom line.
The pharmaceutical industry doesn't care about health... if you actually want to be healthy, you have to put in more effort than just walking into a CVS... 😉 But sure, it's easier to just swallow the suggestions and live in a fantasy world... until you hit 50 and some serious illness hits you.

Look, I actually understand how research studies work—how data is analyzed and how results get interpreted. Because of that, I see people pulling arguments in both directions here. Since I actually know the mechanics behind the process, I’m not about to pass judgment on a result when I can't see the entire methodology from start to finish.
Personally, I don't give a damn about homeopathy itself; what interests me is the actual foundation of a homeopathic preparation (specifically the dilutions and the molecular structure of water). That is where the real "science" lies, and that’s the topic we should be discussing.

darkbison81, over & out (since this conversation has clearly veered off track anyway).

I haven't come across this perspective before...
I don't waste my time debating the ethics of specific industries. To me, they're all cut from the same cloth: profit is the only thing that matters. I feel exactly the same way about the homeopathic industry.
Ultimately, an individual needs to gather enough information and use some common sense to figure out for themselves what’s actually beneficial and what’s just useless or even harmful.

shadowgardener12 said:It can actually help. It worked for my gastritis when all the standard meds failed me. Honestly, forget the chemicals—just stick to nature.

Shadow, could you pass along the info for that homeopath who helped you?
Hopefully you'll see my request... since you won't answer DMs.

If anyone else has had experiences—good or bad—let me know.

I'm just hoping this doesn't turn into another one of those endless debates about homeopathy versus modern medicine...

didn't see it. I don't browse all the threads here much, just a few. anyway, I just sent you the recommendation on Skype.

Hey shadowgardener12, this is all I could find regarding that Mayo Clinic place and their whole iris diagnosis thing—checking eyes and all that.

Starting a new thread here!!!
Does anyone actually know if there's a decent homeopath down in the South, or am I stuck traveling all the way up to New York City to find one?🙂

Look, I don't know anything about the South or even what's going on in New York City—I honestly couldn't tell you if you paid me—but I’ve got my own homeopath over in Columbus and, let me tell you, she is absolutely incredible 🙂

In my own experience, homeopathic remedies provided significant relief in situations where conventional medicine simply fell short—it was truly a turning point for me. I should probably add a disclaimer, though—my practitioner is a genuine professional and an absolute expert in their field, which made all the difference.

I actually got my degree over in Canada 🙂

I first stumbled upon homeopathy about a year and a half ago, but I really started diving deep into using it this past summer
Back then, it was a total lifesaver for my cellulitis—which, of course, decided to make a comeback this summer—but because I jumped on the homeopathy right away, it didn't spread. It’s such a massive difference from before; back when I hadn't touched homeopathy, even five shots of penicillin couldn't do a damn thing to stop it
Nowadays, I’m mainly using it to help with focus and studying, though I still reach for it whenever I hit an acute issue (honestly, these seasonal bugs have been hitting everyone lately)
Oh, and I’ve seen the most incredible results on my dog, too 😉

At the end of the day, I much prefer natural healing methods—it honestly makes me feel terrible whenever I’m forced to swallow even a basic over-the-counter painkiller
