I’m not sure about the RSO—I barely managed to get my hands on some myself. You can actually make it at home; there are tutorials all over YouTube, including two really professional ones. One even shows exactly how Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) is made. Now, CBD is perfectly legal, but this first one isn't. You can find everything you need to know on Google. Personally, I use both: RSO in the evening and CBD during the day. When you use them together, they actually have a synergistic effect. Google knows everything. 🙂

Do you happen to know where I might be able to pick up some of that Rick Simpson Oil? And I'm wondering, what's the actual difference between that and standard CBD oil?
Is it necessary to take both?

By the way, lasers are just a short-term fix—they basically just burn off the symptom. I tried it myself for a spot where CSCR popped up, and you're left with a mark, like a dark, translucent little cloud or something along those lines... In another case, they couldn't even use the laser because it was right in the center of the vision, and they didn't want to risk permanent damage. Stick with RSO and you should be fine, just watch out for scammers when you're buying. There are plenty of greedy idiots out there selling regular oil or God knows what else and passing it off as RSO, at least that's what I've heard.

Does anyone actually have any insight into how Cannabis oil works? I just picked some up, so I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually worth the trouble. I was diagnosed with CSR back in July of last year, and my doctor over in Germany prescribed me Glaupax, which I think is pretty similar to the stuff you get over here. I took it for about three weeks, and I guess things improved a tiny bit, but the issue hasn't really gone away. I haven't actually gone back for a follow-up exam since then. Aside from just trying to stay stress-free, what has actually worked for you guys? I am honestly dreading the idea of having one of those injections shoved into my eye; I want to avoid that at all costs if I possibly can. Is laser treatment even a viable alternative?
I would truly appreciate any advice or medication recommendations you might be willing to share. It would mean a lot.

So, the CSR has completely vanished. It hasn't shown up once during any of my checkups over the last six months. 😁...all thanks to using Rick Simpson Oil.👍
🤣

Hey CSR, just wondering if you're still sticking to that oil regimen?

No, I just take CC three times a month whenever it crosses my mind. I also dabble with CBD oil every now and then. Had a checkup a few weeks ago after being away from the doctor for a year—everything looks good, no issues with the eye.👍

Hey, what's up everyone who's been typing in this thread so far.

I guess I'll jump in with my own story. At the start of July, I got diagnosed with CSCR in my left eye. I ended up hitting the emergency ophthalmology department at Vinogradski Hospital because, honestly, I lost like 30-40% of my vision basically overnight. Besides just losing sight, everything in that eye looked smaller, blurry—kind of like looking through water or something—distorted, and way darker than my right eye. It was like someone pulled a curtain over the image and dimmed it down.

So, just like most other patients and based on what I read in the previous posts, they checked my vision first. After that, they did an OCT of my macula, which led to the diagnosis of neurosensory retina detachment in the left eye. Once the doctor had the printed images from the OCT, he explained what all that stuff meant and prescribed some treatment.

The treatment was this:
1) Yellox drops (2x daily)
2) Trusopt drops (2x daily)
Follow-up in a month.

Well, a month has passed, and I went back to Vinogradski for a check-up about a week ago. My personal feeling over this past month was that there wasn't any improvement, maybe even that things were slightly worse, and unfortunately, that turned out to be true. Right when I got there, they dilated my eyes a couple of times and sent me straight into the room for another OCT. The results were pretty much identical to the last one, except the retinal detachment was actually a few microns larger. To make matters worse, the bottom part of the retina (the detached part) looked jagged instead of smooth like before, so there's some actual damage now, and my eye pressure went up a bit too. Basically, it's gotten worse compared to how it started, despite a month of Yellox and Trusopt. So, I got a new, different treatment plan. They cut the Yellox entirely and kept the Trusopt, but bumped it up from 2x a day to 3x a day. I also got prescribed Diamox tablets, which I have to take as 2x250mg, but both at once (so 500mg in one go), plus I'm taking these eye vitamin pills. So, the whole deal for two months is: Trusopt drops, Diamox, and vitamins. I'm scheduled for another follow-up around the beginning of October. I'll check back in then, if not sooner.

Aside from all that, I should mention that these Diamox pills are definitely not sitting well with me. Mainly because of this awful heartburn, and the taste too. The food tastes okay enough, I guess, but when it comes to drinks—especially sodas—it feels like someone poured two huge spoonfuls of sugar into a glass of Alka-Seltzer.

Thanks for the previous posts, cheers from another guy dealing with CSCR.😉

Monitoring and potassium supplementation while on Diamox?
Is that generally considered inadvisable?

Nah, they didn't mention anything about monitoring or taking potassium, and they definitely didn't give me a heads-up on what kind of side effects I might deal with from Diamox. Thanks for the comment, peace.

Hi everyone... I wanted to step in and share my own journey dealing with CSR. It first hit my left eye back in 2017. For about four or five months, I was diligently using eye drops and taking Diamox for a while, and during that period, I experienced both ups and downs, but that fluid just wouldn't clear up. Once the doctors realized it wasn't going away on its own, they decided to go with laser treatment; however, because there was a leak at the center of my vision, they couldn't perform a standard burn, so they used a cold laser (EPM) just to provide a little bit of heat. Right after that, within two or three weeks, things started looking better, and by the five or six-week mark at my follow-up appointment, the fluid was completely gone. After about six months, my visual acuity bounced back to 90%. Since then, I've had CSR recur twice in that same eye, and neither time did the drops or Diamox do the trick—each time, it took the laser to make it recede. Following that second episode, my vision returned to 90% again. My most recent bout happened in the summer of 2020, and once again, it only cleared up after the laser procedure, bringing my vision back to 80%. In both the second and third instances, the laser was performed roughly two months after the CSR appeared, and it successfully receded every single time. I've been told that the sooner the fluid clears, the less permanent damage you sustain. Most importantly, you absolutely must avoid any kind of corticosteroids and try your best to stay away from stress.

Hey again,

Just following up on my last post.
Had another checkup at the hospital today after finishing that two-month round of treatment (Diamox tablets twice a day plus Trusopt drops three times a day), and things are looking way better. I can actually feel the difference myself—the clarity and vision in my bad eye are pretty much caught up to my good one now. My OCT scan confirmed it too; looks like the Diamox managed to pull almost all the fluid out from under my retina. Still, they put me on another month of Trusopt drops, three times a day.

Hopefully, this is finally in the clear. I'm just crossing my fingers that the fluid doesn't start creeping back under the retina again... Best of luck to everyone!
