Anyone seen Darren Aronofsky's Pi (1998)?

Hey everyone, how’s it going!

I’ve watched this thing twice in the last 24 hours and honestly, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
That black-and-white "minimalist" look feels a little indie at times... the acting is top-tier though... the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal (can someone please drop the link to the score? pleeeease)... and that frantic, handheld camera work during the outbursts and paranoid episodes is just brilliant. The pacing stays tight from start to finish too.

Man, I love it!
It’s everything from one of the most intense, high-octane peaks I’ve ever seen to one of those endings that leaves you wide open to interpretation...

Told you so. 😛 I love this movie too, honestly prefer it over Requiem just because it’s so straightforward and doesn't try too hard. It's kind of all over the place until the end, but then that finale hits you with a totally different perspective on everything... and man, what a perspective. 🙂
Total must-see for any true believers, conspiracy theorists, or anyone who feels like one. 😁

Honestly, this is one of those movies where the trailer was doing way more heavy lifting than the actual film ever could. It’s pretty mediocre—still, I guess it beats that absolute train wreck of a Requiem for a Dream.

The direction is actually kind of interesting, though, and man, that soundtrack absolutely rules..

The movie itself is simple—yet, strangely enough, it feels quite pretentious given that it tackles mysteries we might never actually solve or fully grasp.
Still, I thought it was a good watch.

I actually have his work on DVD, 🙂 though I haven't watched it in months because it's always being passed around between friends.

It's such an incredible movie—one of those films (like *Being John Malkovich*) that just sticks with you. You remember everything: the scenes, the score, all those tiny details.
There's this claustrophobic vibe to it, too. At one point, I felt so uneasy watching it... I actually got chills.

So, does anyone have a lead on where I can actually find this movie???
Seriously, if one more person suggests DivX, I am going to lose my mind and jump out a window!!!

This movie is absolute gold!!!
It doesn't feel American at all; it actually feels more like those experimental European films... and the soundtrack is incredible... Ken Ishii... drum'n bass...
...it captures the psychotic state of an introverted genius prone to metaphysical wandering in such a raw, realistic way...
I’d recommend it to any serious cinephile who actually has some standards.😉

Yeah, Clint Mansell—the guy actually composed the score for Requiem for a Dream too.

The movie was fine, but I honestly can’t wrap my head around why people seem so obsessed with money, the stock market, and all this financial maneuvering.

Darren Aronofsky is certainly an intriguing director, though.

It’s a good movie, honestly, but math isn't exactly my strongest suit, and if I'm being totally real and comparing it to something like Requiem or Hrvač, it just doesn't hold a candle to them...
