It’s nearly impossible to capture the true essence of this in writing—you really need to hear the grating, off-key vocals to get it—but since you’ve all seen the movie, the scene should be burned into your memory:
Leslie Nielsen's girlfriend: "Sam, play our song. Just one more time."
Sam: "Ding, dong, the witch is dead, the wicked witch, the wicked witch..."

Whew! Imagine turning on the TV only to be greeted by some frantic news anchor sounding an alarm about a massive sewage leak, followed by a screen full of sludge. It would certainly be in the spirit of Golden Gun, though perhaps a bit too much for my tastes.

There was this one scene in Police Squad where the camera pans across the entire station floor. In the background, you can catch a glimpse through some blurry glass doors of a silhouette showing a woman showering. 😂

I just remembered this classic gag they used to run constantly in TV shows, though I think it only ever made an appearance in movies during the first installment.
Have you guys noticed how whenever the main characters are hanging out at the police station, there’s often this tall guy in the shot whose head is always cut off from the frame? (I can't recall his name).
It’s always some ridiculous joke involving him—like someone telling him he has something stuck in his teeth, only for him to pull out an entire banana.

Leslie Nielsen was a total legend, plain and simple.👍

If my memory serves me correctly, there’s a flashback set back in the '70s in the third installment where O.J. Simpson looks exactly like this: 🙂

I just finished watching The Final, and honestly? I think I can finally die happy with a smile on my face.

Have you realized that with those movies—specifically the ones by J.J. Abrams—you actually have to sit through the credits? There is always some sort of joke hidden there. For instance:

Production Assistant
Best Boy
Best Man
Best Boy - Man
Best Production Assistant
Best Men Assistant of Production
Best Boy - Man Production Assistant

Or take yesterday, right before the end of the credits, where they list "Deleted Scenes" (it's nice they remembered those people too), and it includes things like "Background Extra"

"Could the owner of the blue Honda Civic with license plate ABC 1234 please report to the lobby because their lights are left on."

Or perhaps:

"No animals were harmed during the making of this movie."

"However, several species went extinct during post-production."

Followed immediately by a list of species and their causes of death... such as "excessive photography" or "snack breaks."

which one is your favorite? For me, number 1 is definitely the winner 🙂 though 2 holds up well enough... even 3 is pretty fun 🙂

Hahaha, or sometimes they list minor characters based on the one line they actually spoke. Like, if I remember right, Weird Al shows up as some robber at the police station and he's credited as "Say your prayer," because that's basically his entire existence in the movie. 😁

Someone was asking about Leslie Nielsen's age. I think he's 72 now, so if you subtract 6, 10, or 12—whatever the gap was when they filmed the Golden Gun sequels—you get the math. Man, he's getting up there, but he's still so incredibly active. 🙂

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Spy Hard???? That movie is absolutely brilliant and has that exact same vibe as Golden Gun.
