I don't get it, how on earth are those monsters everyone's obsessed with?
Personally, I can't stand that cartoon at all.

I’m down for everything except ENG... personally, I think Ice Age is way below Shrek, especially since you seem to be such a huge Shrek fan.😁

I find myself watching a few animated films every single day—mostly because I have a little three-year-old running around... and honestly, they’re all pretty great. He’s obsessed with monsters, among other things, much like his old man😁. Right now, he’s glued to Fantasia. That particular film really does have some incredibly stunning moments

The Disney animated films we see here—wrapped up in all this imagery of innocence and pure-heartedness—actually serve to mask a massive, sprawling multinational corporation, and frankly, the message being beamed into children's heads through these movies is often deeply problematic! Have you noticed how female characters are frequently reduced to mere caricatures, overly sexualized, or, more predictably, constantly waiting to be rescued by some male lead? And don't even get me started on the representation of African Americans and Asian Americans, who are almost always pigeonholed into a handful of tired racial stereotypes... The whole animation production is essentially just one giant engine designed to peddle toys, video games, and kids' clothing featuring these very same characters. It’s all part of the machine, much like what Michael Eisner, the Disney CEO, once admitted: "To make money is our only objective."

And yet, people just sit there and think the movies are charming. 🙄 😁

Like someone already pointed out, it's clearly just Disney... so I could only really give my vote to him. 😛

But all three are somewhere in my list... I think Monsters, Inc. is awesome because of the Crystal Goodman duo, IA is charming and actually restored my faith in Americans, but ENG is still somehow the best for me. I mean, they just don't have any other Disney movies with such great dialogue... it's a shame Disney had to ruin everything with nonsense like Atlantida and their worst feature film so far, Planet.

Here, here... it really is kind of pathetic.

I mean, the movie is basically at a five-year-old's level, but then they throw in jokes for an older audience, so you honestly don't know what you're supposed to be watching or listening to anymore.

The whole thing is carried by Myres and Murphy; otherwise, it would truly be a disaster.

I agree regarding DreamWorks; the only one of theirs I actually love is Antz, the rest isn't really my thing. As for Warner Bros., I wouldn't necessarily agree. Sure, they don't have many feature films, but they make up for it with their short series which are actually great.

Anyway, what was said above is absolutely true. The characters in Disney cartoons are currently their weakest link. It wasn't always like this... but man, ever since LK, all Disney movies seem to be getting worse and worse (ENG being the exception, obviously).

Right now, the only two good things about Disney cartoons are the animation and the production value, but when you consider that their production boils down to selling "merchandise" and the animation serves no purpose other than looking pretty—maybe until some cartoon hits rock bottom and they finally snap. (God willing)

By the way, the guy who voiced that character is the same actor who plays David Putty on Seinfeld. (You know, Elaine's boyfriend, the auto mechanic).

Anyway, why are you even bothering with video rental stores? Just get it on DivX. 😉

Look, everyone, you have to realize that’s just Disney handling the distribution; the actual work was done by the Pixar team, just like they did with Toy Story, A Bug's Life, and Finding Nemo.
And those critics? They basically hold all the cards. I haven't had a chance to sit down with Nemo yet since I only picked it up today, so we'll see... but frankly, I don't have any doubts about Pixar's quality.

Fair enough, maybe I was being a bit too harsh on Warner Bros., but DreamWorks is honestly pretty subpar in my book, and if I'm being completely honest, even Antz feels dull... I mean, please, just compare it to A Bug's Life, which is an absolute masterpiece.

As for Shrek, I won't even bother commenting anymore; it clearly reflects the tastes of both our audience and the American public. If people want to point out how dim Americans are, fine... it seems we're all cut from the same cloth.

I mean, Disney just buys up the distribution rights under their own label to scoop up all the cream of the crop. They've been doing that for a long time now.

Look, what you really need is essentially the Gordian Knot.

With that, you basically get pretty much everything required to make a DivX file.

I mean, you could technically do it without it—say you need something to rip a DVD, like Smart Ripper, then you'd use DVD2Avi to pull the video and audio, obviously you'll need VirtualDub, plus LAME 3.92 to encode the audio into MP3, and... let me think... yeah, that's about it.

Oh, and you absolutely have to have the right codec installed... DivX 3.11, 5.02, or XviD.

That’s more or less the whole list. And honestly, most of that comes bundled together with Gordian.
