Like I said before—and like you already pointed out yourself—you guys are just exhausting. Seriously. It’s pathetic.
I don't know what to tell you—it's just redom.
TzU said:Just your typical, frozen-solid, elitist, "I’m too cool for this" contrarian pumpkin.
So, what’s this I hear about everything always being against me? Seriously, what are we even basing that claim on? Give me something real here—please.
TzU said:It’s like saying "American Americana"—it’s a total oxymoron.
So, look—Americana is a genre, plain and simple. Anyone around here who actually listens to metal knows how this works. You’ve got rock, you’ve got pop, you’ve got punk... then you’ve got Americana. Get it? So, if some band pops up over in Romania playing that style, they're just a Romanian Americana band. If they were playing right here in the States, they'd be an American Americana band. It's not that deep, you know?
Look, if there are bands out there labeled as "English Americana" or "Norwegian Americana" in the music mags—and they totally are—then I don't see why we can't just call them an "American Americana band." Unless, of course, you’ve got some super specific, personal definition of what an oxymoron is.
TzU said:Drop some names of the best American bands that don't have a single lyric written in English. Wait, scratch that—I meant bands that don't write any lyrics in English at all. Just give me the best ones out there.
Look, for those of you who are a little slow on the uptake—and I mean that in the nicest way possible—I need to clear something up. This isn't about me faking some deep sense of patriotism or whatever. It’s just a simple fact: a song is made up of both the music and the lyrics. It's not one or the other.
Man, I’m telling you—you listen to bands like Lunar or Pecah Pit and there isn't a single lyric to be found. That’s why they’ve gotta be German bands. Then you’ve got Spooner and Messerschmitt singing in English... which means they aren't local acts at all. They're probably American. Or maybe British. Or even Aussie. Honestly, who knows where they're from? God only knows. And that track "Dobro" by Pip? Man, that song definitely landed here straight from Mars.
Or maybe it’s all just fake patriotism—you know, people putting on an act just to look good.
TzU said:It feels like half the people around here are constantly whining about not being born in Texas—as if they’d actually be happier there just so they could sit around listening to some country music in peace.
Haha, yeah, I’m definitely one of those people too. Based on everything you’ve posted here, you’ve pretty much psychoanalyzed my entire emotional state—just gone ahead and dug through every dark corner of my personality. Just so you know, though... I’m suffering. Real bad.
I can't even begin to deal with this...
Forget Lucinda Williams and all those other "authentic" country singers.
Look, if you don't actually know your stuff, maybe just stay out of it? It’s better that way—otherwise, you just end up looking like a total joke. It’s perfectly fine if you aren't a fan of Lucinda Williams, seriously. But what you wrote here? It totally screams that you were just trying to be edgy about something you don't even understand. You clearly read a little bit about it, got worked up, and now you're acting out—but honestly, it just came off as pretty damn stupid.
TzU said:Seriously, screw you guys
Who the hell is "US"??
TzU said:George W. Bush
First off, what does he even have to do with this argument?? And second, you're being disrespectful. Go screw yourself, alright?
TzU said:I wouldn't trade Jack the Ripper for 150 Johnny Cash or any of those guys in black
If there was an emoji for a shrug, this would be the perfect place for it. But hey, don't bother. Who cares.
And just so you know, Vanis isn't your Ripper anymore. Pip fans—you know how it is—they don't even use that word anymore.
