I’ve seenit (granted, it was quite a while ago...)
But even if you can find a few scattered elements of that aesthetic, I’d really struggle to argue that Bambi is some quintessential film noir classic.

It was one of the first films (as far as I know) to lean so heavily into the leading lady's sex appeal. It's a concept that's been ripped off a million times since.

He’s actually got nothing wrong with him. For that era, he was practically considered "smutty" and a total scandal... 😁
But if I'm being honest, Marlene really used to get on my nerves back then, which is a huge contrast to her later films. Still, I get it—it was just her starting out, and she eventually found a style that I liked a whole lot more.
It kind of reminds me that I haven't watched Witness in probably a hundred years. 😢
They could honestly just throw him on TV right now.

Marlene Dietrich was an absolute genius. I honestly think she’s the one who basically defined what it means to be a "cool" female heroine on screen. You see her name popping up here all the time, but looking back at *Touch of Evil*, she is just effortlessly ultra-cool in that role, even though she was already well into her career by then. 🙏 😎

I just can't stand Das Boot. Honestly, kill me now, I lose my mind every time I try to sit through it. I've attempted to watch it all the way through several times already—even when it’s split up into two or three parts on cable TV, which isn't even that long if you think about it—but I just can't do it. 😢
All my friends absolutely love it, though, and they never stop teasing me, calling me uncultured because I can't even say how much I hate it. 🙄

Is The Longest Day actually worth watching? I have it sitting here at home and I'm thinking about just selling it, but I haven't actually seen it yet. (It came in a bundle with a few other movies I picked up... 😁)
