pure genius... those shots are stunning. once I track down a copy of "House of Flying Daggers" again, I'm gonna loop it until my brain melts

...all those films by the Tykwer-Griebe duo... Tykwer leans so heavily on the visual aspect, and he really found his perfect match in Franko Griebe (especially in stuff like Winterschlaefer, since that movie is basically just one long, poetic image 😍 )...
...and if I didn't mention the work done primarily by Juergen Juerges for Michael Haneke, well, that wouldn't be me...🙂 (even if, during his "cleaner" filmmaking phase, the director seems to be handing more and more control over to others)...
...I also see someone mentioned Songs from The Second Floor a while back, which I definitely agree with...👍

...that's enough for now—I'm pretty predictable 😳 🙂

(As for Anthony Dod Mantle, I'll leave him to someone else—he's highly acclaimed, but for good reason 🙂 )

Does anyone remember Roman Polanski's Tess? That movie had such beautiful cinematography...

It’s kind of wild that nobody has brought up Tarkovsky's Mirror yet.

Aleksandr Burov served as the DOP for Alexander Sokurov’s Whispering Pages (1993), which was actually branded back then as one of the most dimly lit films ever made.

Aleksei Fyodorov handled the cinematography for Alexander Sokurov's Mother and Son (1997)—it just goes to show that a single frame can really say a thousand words.

Roman Polanski's Knife in the Water 😍—I haven't seen the whole thing yet, but it looks impressive. And obviously, there's A Clockwork Orange... I just love great production design. 🙂 Lately, I've been digging Lucky Number Slevin.

...since we're talking recent stuff I haven't mentioned yet: After the Wedding 😍 what a movie, what stunning cinematography 😍

...honestly, there’s just something about the Danes—they have this knack for making films that look unnaturally beautiful 😍

...A Clockwork Orange... man, simply gorgeous 😍 it totally slipped my mind...🙂

Everything and anything on this thread, yet everyone somehow managed to overlook Tim Burton’s creepy-ass visuals

The calmest sea that summer😢

P. S. Xavi, shouldn't this thread be called Best Film Casts? 😕 And isn't this just a duplicate of this one?

...the images are scaled down—and I’d really appreciate it if everyone else could stick to smaller images moving forward, just to keep things readable 🙂

Kum and The Godfather are solid in every way, so I think I'll pass on those

For me personally, Requiem and Run Lola Run
the camerawork is incredible, and man, that soundtrack...

Fine, then I’ll throw in a tiger, a dragon... and Dracula (Bram Stoker's Dracula)
