Something pretty similar happened before—when football spilled over into politics and the fallout was basically the same. Massive bans. If I remember correctly, even a couple of mods got the axe...

Honestly, that’s all you need to settle things quickly and get it done right. Nobody's really out there coming up with those kinds of wild ideas anymore.

And this whole thing about food? It’s not even worth commenting on. Everyone should be able to have an opinion without getting swarmed by a bunch of trolls from some other subreddit... right?!

Why is everyone acting so surprised that the mods are reacting like this? It's like watching a toddler stare at a wall. I actually want them to step up and protect me from the boredom caused by some random online group and their endless army of burner accounts that "conveniently" pop up.

I think we’re looking at this all wrong. We've got the cause and effect totally flipped here.

Nobody is arguing that moderators should crack down on people acting like total animals on Reddit.
The issue isn't about policing bad behavior; it's about the fact that an entire thread was nuked. People didn't get banned because they were being trolls—they got banned because they were asking why the hell the thread disappeared in the first place. They had their posts deleted, and when they went to the help desk to ask for some clarity on their bans, they got hit with a permanent ban instead.

Look, you can't go around calling users bottom-of-the-barrel trash and labeling a thread a playground for morons and uneducated idiots without expecting a massive backlash...

I'm not fully caught up on all the specifics mentioned here... but from what I can gather, they really only have themselves to blame.
Spamming other threads in waves is, of course, a massive 🙂 and just plain unprofessional, rude, and bad etiquette.
I mean, looking at what the Democratic Party said—that they wandered into another thread, started a fight, and ended up getting banned—they’re basically admitting they earned it. So the real question is: what now? They got what was coming to them, nobody's losing anything, so let's just move on.

First off, is being banned actually something unexpected or desirable? Now they're acting surprised—essentially causing their own bans and dragging others down with them—so why are they acting like the moderators are out to get them? 🙂

That being said, I think people are overlooking the obvious pattern in how they act—they flock together to some random thread, provoke every living soul until they start catching bans (like, five at once, which is pretty standard 🤦), and then they retreat back to their own thread.

Do you honestly think that repeating this kind of behavior—and I want to emphasize, *organized* behavior, almost like an act of solidarity 🙄—by flooding threads and triggering bans for both the guilty and the innocent, is considered normal or somehow harmless? 🙄

Just take a second to think about it. Seriously, think about what you actually did. You caused mass bans, clearly, and not just once. Once the mods finally got fed up with cleaning up after you, they decided to hand out some much heavier sanctions.

You shouldn't have played around so much, thinking you could just go in and cause chaos on every single thread—well, that's exactly what happened. You could have just ignored this "cake," or whatever it is you didn't like, and vented about it on your own zidić, and you might still have had it. But like I said, you just pushed it too far. 😉

Give it some thought. 🙂

@Gregory Garcia, I don't think you're following me. The Democratic Party provided a single example—that isn't how we operate. What "mass spamming" are you even talking about?? And what "mass banning" because of us?? We had our own thread; we weren't out there spamming everywhere. We got permabanned because of pure nonsense, not spamming.

And I honestly don't get it—since when is it against the rules to post in other threads if you already have your own topic??? Especially if you're an OT?
What are we even debating here? Since when did that become unacceptable behavior on the forum???

You say you aren't up to speed. Well, look—you've got the link to zidić 1 right there, so go catch up.

Oh please, as if expressing an opinion here is automatically considered spamming, picking a fight, or being a provocateur.

Look, I’m not fifteen—and that doesn't mean you are either—so we shouldn't have to go hunting for a niche group just to validate our weird thoughts or habits. If we did that, wouldn't it prove we aren't actually that weird?
Instead, when we see something bizarre, we just call it out for being bizarre.

What I’m genuinely curious about is the mindset of those moms (and no, this isn't about baking 😬) who insist on giving babies nothing but bottled water starting from day one.
Is it "spamming" or "starting drama" if I jump in there and ask: good grief, ladies, why on earth do you think that's healthier than just using tap water?
Or how about asking the women who swap out pads and tampons for those reusable cloth versions that sit soaking in a jar in the bathroom for five days before they even wash them... why? Doesn't having that sitting in your house all week gross you out?

At the end of the day, this is Reddit—it's supposed to be a place for exchanging ideas.🤷

But here, every sub-forum acts like a total cult. If you don't fall in line, they come for you with everything they've got.
Then the mods turn on you, and suddenly you're persona non grata anywhere where "your people" hang out.

EDIT:
That wasn't the accusation this time.
The attack on the thread happened last time regarding the Fitness section, but since it seemed to be bothering people, I figured I'd try to explain myself.

@Gregory Garcia,
everything you said makes sense, but you clearly weren't paying attention in class because you completely missed the point here.

Permanent bans are all sorted out over in the banned corner.
@parachutes had over 10,000 posts and got slapped with a permanent ban in the banned corner. You really think someone with 10,000 posts was just out there causing chaos? Every single one of her posts had her personal touch, and she took every punishment like a champ. She just ran into a moderator who was having a bad day—someone who was already being pressured by everyone else on the other side at that exact moment. It was just a bunch of lowlifes, bottom-feeders, and total trash...
@oblica- first they announced she was just a clone of some permanently banned user, questioning her whole identity. Once they realized that wasn't true, they claimed she was just borrowing the handle of a banned user...
@jaffa- permanent ban on the original handle, reason: "annoying clone."
@misseducata- Man, you could write about this until tomorrow, but you still wouldn't get it, since none of us ever did.
Just pure absurdity from start to finish, but whatever...

Angela Edwards4, what you’re bringing up here—honestly, it just isn't a valid reason, and I think we can all agree on that. It really isn't. This:

You tell me:
Is it just me, or is it totally normal to feel this sudden, intense urge to jump into a discussion the moment you stumble upon an interesting topic? I’m talking about those posts that really grab you—whether they’re something incredibly positive that lifts your mood, or something totally negative that just gets under your skin—where you immediately think, "Okay, I have thoughts on this." I guess I wonder if everyone else experiences that same impulse to participate, or if it's just my own way of processing things. Maybe it's just a desire to connect, or perhaps it's just that itch to weigh in when something actually catches my eye... what do you guys think?
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that weirdly intense urge to jump into a heated online debate—especially when you see someone making a point that perfectly mirrors your own—just to let them know they aren't alone in their thinking? I mean, when you see a thread where someone is getting absolutely grilled, but you find yourself nodding along with every word they say, it’s almost hard to resist the impulse to chime in and basically say, "Hey, I'm right there with you." It feels like this sudden, almost instinctive desire to offer some solidarity and show that their perspective isn't just some isolated outlier, but actually shared by others. Is that... I don't know, normal? Or am I just overthinking the whole social dynamic of internet arguments?
Is it actually normal to sit there at your computer and hash everything out in your own little chat room—you know, like your own personal digital living room?

The Democratic Party claims that this is just how things work—that everything described here is perfectly normal and totally fine. And then...

And now:
Well, I guess you could say that the people in the local zoning departments—those types who always seem to be looking for a fight—don't usually complain when they end up getting handed a penalty like this. They said exactly what was on their minds, didn't they? In my opinion, they basically got exactly what they deserved—it’s just the natural consequence of speaking their truth without any filter.
-

I mean, honestly—it’s just typical of those little Wall Street types to act like that. In principle, I don't think anyone ever really complains when they get handed cards like these—it’s just how things tend to go, I guess. If you look at the patterns here—and I really think you have to—it becomes pretty clear that this wasn't just some one-off fluke or an isolated incident. It feels more like a recurring theme, doesn't it? To me, it looks like something that has happened multiple times before, almost like a cycle that keeps repeating itself.
I mean, from what I've gathered—and I could be wrong here, mind you—it seems like the mods started acting this way toward them specifically because they... Well, someone went ahead and nuked an entire thread—just like that. Honestly, it just doesn't hold water—it’s that simple. 😉 Because this has never once happened in the entire history of this Reddit community—getting a permanent ban just because of a single thread—it’s pretty clear that there's always been a reason behind it. I mean, I guess it's always been about the underlying issues rather than just one isolated post. It really feels like we’re just seeing the same patterns over and over again—it's almost like déjà vu at this point. I can't help but wonder if we're stuck in some kind of loop where history just keeps repeating itself, regardless of how much we think we've progressed. It’s a bit exhausting, honestly, to watch the same mistakes happen under different names. Maybe I'm being a bit cynical, but there's definitely a sense of repetition here that's hard to ignore. Look, we’re seeing some rule-breaking here. I’ve been around this community for a little while now—long enough to know how things usually go down—so I have a decent sense of the landscape. 🙂

👍
True, but it’s also a place where like-minded people can congregate—kind of like how those specific zidić threads tend to pull everyone together. 😉

Look, if I’m sitting here saying I love corn cake—and I really, truly do—then what I’m looking for are recipes for corn cake. It’s that simple, right? I don't need someone waltzing into my kitchen to lecture me about how it's basically "food for idiots," or trying to convince me that banana bread is somehow the superior choice. If I wanted a lecture on dessert hierarchy, I probably wouldn't have asked for a recipe in the first place. 😛

Well, I think—and I’m not necessarily saying it’ll be me, though someone certainly should—that it’s probably time to report the mods. Honestly, they're just letting the spam fly and letting people drift completely off-topic in this thread, which is getting a bit ridiculous.

I mean, looking at what you wrote—and honestly, you put together the most concise yet thorough timeline I’ve seen here—it almost feels like the folks over at the zidić crowd are showing up to this thread just waiting to get banned. It’s as if they’re more interested in pushing their own agenda until our investigation—or maybe yours, I guess—is finally finished. 🙏

Good grief, everyone—can we please just take a collective breath and calm down for a second?

Look, I don't think the Democratic Party realizes that this isn't exactly some wild West free-for-all where you can just say whatever pops into your head—and honestly, thank God it isn't. If it were, we wouldn't be able to actually exchange ideas properly, would we? There really is a certain... let's call it a code of conduct for sharing opinions around here, even if it feels a bit structured sometimes. 😉

I think you’re exaggerating just a little bit there... I mean, if you just show up like a normal, polite person—the way you originally intended to ask—and simply say, "Hey, why exactly is this corn cake so incredible?" nobody is going to take offense. It’s a harmless question! But, I have to reiterate my point: it’s a completely different story when you walk in there ready to bet money just to prove that your version of the cake is superior. That's where the friction comes from.

Yeah, right. Everyone here has different interests and different impulses. If we all wrote politely, calmly, and kept our cool like you do, we wouldn't even need moderators.

Nobody got a perm ban just for trashing a thread. Period.

They haven't been around any longer than the users who got banned. 🙂

So, what "deleted threads" are we even talking about here? The only thing that actually got nuked was the zidić thread in the off-topic section—now it’s just gone.

And what's with this talk about warnings? Look, there isn't a single veteran user on this site who hasn't picked up at least one warning, especially when the debates start getting heated.

But that’s no excuse to wipe an entire thread or hand out four permanent bans. Let's be real—we all know this was just a personal vendetta by some petty moderator. If only he’d actually step up and own it...

Well, that’s exactly my point. 🙂 From what I can tell—and I say that with some authority since I've been hanging around here for seven years now—you generally have to wreck quite a few threads and then keep up that rude, arrogant attitude even after getting a warning before you see a permanent ban.

I don't know exactly which threads were deleted or how many, but it's pretty obvious there were some, given that the zidić crowd isn't complaining about warnings—which implies they were getting plenty of them well before the bans hit.🤷
That being said, based on how aggressively you're writing here—and look, I get that you're feeling emotional about this, but you aren't helping yourself—someone might actually think the zidić group was collecting warnings like they were trophies. 🤦 Like, "Oh, look at us, look how many red cards we've racked up!" 🤦

Personally, I don't take any pride in a single warning I've received, whether I deserved it or not; to me, a warning feels like a defeat, a sign that I failed to articulate my point properly.🤷

Please, seriously, this whole "personal vendetta from a moderator" explanation is honestly a bit laughable, and like I mentioned, it's really not doing you any favors... I'll say it again: please, just rethink everything. Let's find a real solution instead of this, because it should be clear that with an argument like that, you won't convince anyone, nor will you bring back the zidić crowd... assuming, of course, they haven't done something truly unforgivable, like bringing family into the fray or something along those lines.🙂

Yeah, and?

A while back, Vojky nuked a thread where I was the only one who lost about 300 posts.
At least some of them were actually useful—I know that because people actually thanked me for them.
Sure, there was plenty of flame wars and whatever else, but I figured (and I still think) he should have just locked the thread instead of deleting it.

He didn't.

Dammit.

I've mentioned it to him here and there—just so he knows I haven't forgotten 😁—but it never really crossed my mind to organize a massive protest like this. Not for me, and certainly not for anyone else on Pik.

Then again, on another forum, people still suspect me of wiping an entire sub-forum (thousands of threads!) out of pure spite after a moderator deleted one massive, whiny thread. Which is funny, since I didn't even have mod privileges at the time—though my old signature still stands as proof of my hacking skills. 🤣

Honestly, I'd be beating myself up for three days straight if I got a red card.

Let's find a fix, I'm with you on that. How about a little compromise? Just give everyone a month-long ban, then reopen the thread and get everything back to normal. Fair? Both sides lose a bit, but both sides win too.

And if you're actually planning on taking a stand against the corrupt system—which, let's face it, is a massive undertaking—you better make sure you're playing it smart. Seriously. Don't just go in swinging blindly. 😁

I truly felt that I was posing my question in a perfectly polite and civilized manner 🤷
it wasn't my intention to stage some grand protest or throw a tantrum over a deleted thread—whether the topic is interesting to people or not, whether we cry when we get penalized or laugh it off—but instead, certain users suddenly pop up out of nowhere with zero clue what's going on, jumping to conclusions that we are the ones at fault. It’s absurd; you have people from the US or random individuals I don't even follow appearing to lodge complaints, claiming I should be commenting on things I don't track and have no idea about, yet I can't even find out because the posts were scrubbed

yet, curiously enough, the posts from the regulars who actually know us—those who wrote posts of support—are always the ones being neatly erased; some even ended up getting penalized just for that.
I was simply looking for clarity 🤷

but honestly, it doesn't even matter anymore

you certainly are an interesting character 😁

Well, I might as well chime in so Tyndall can get back to his favorite hobby—deleting posts. 🙂

I see even those who aren't part of the "zidić" crowd are showing up. Honestly, I appreciate the input on this thread, but things are a bit darker and uglier than they seem on the surface. These accusations that we were "sabotaging" other threads are laughable. Sure, people from the "zidić" group commented on other topics occasionally—imagine that, someone actually posting in parts of the site other than their own little bubble 😁. I don't recall any "organized attacks" on other threads (though, granted, I’m getting older—maybe senility is setting in)—so it would be lovely if the admins could provide a link showing where more than two of us—the supposed "scum and dregs" of this site—coordinated to destroy threads. I die laughing every time I hear the word "organized." In the spirit of fairness, I’ll happily provide a link showing where our dear, insulted moderator practically recruited people from one thread to raid another just because he didn't like the subject matter 😉. Now *that* looks like organization to me.

There weren't any clones or nonsense until the "zidić" thread was nuked, permanent bans were handed out, and everyone from that "infamous" thread was forbidden from starting new topics or posting more than twice in the same place 🤣. It went so far that I was personally warned via PM to stay away from the "dinner for 5" thread. To be perfectly honest, I’ve been vocal about how that thread ended up in the off section since day one, yet suddenly every single one of my comments—which were basically just "Good morning, how are you?"—is treated like a provocation 🤣
. That’s me: a user with exactly three strikes—one from my very first post, one zero-point strike, and one ten-pointer. I’ve participated in every PDF on this site; I don't troll, I don't mock, and I certainly don't clone accounts. Yet, my "Good morning!" is viewed as an act of aggression 🤣
.
What else is there to say? You’ve completely botched this. You have neo-Nazis and extremists running wild in the politics section, yet your primary concern is six harmless women chatting in a thread called "zidić." Truly, stellar prioritization right there. A round of applause for all of you!

Edit: Just so there’s no misunderstanding, I’m not asking for "zidić" to come back. That’s ancient history now... unfortunately. But the permanent bans issued to these women for absolute nonsense? That’s what hurts—along with blaming these harmless women for all the world's ills. You banned women for being "clones" when you clearly have no idea who is actually a clone and who isn't. Oblica doesn't even exist as a real person 🤣, Parach got a permaban over questions asked in the ban appeal corner, and restlessbison25 was flagged as a clone 🤣. Good grief 🤣
. If it helps, I can send you a list of everyone from the "zidić" group via PM, so at least you can admit you banned someone because they were "annoying" rather than hiding behind the "clone" excuse 🤣

Look, please forgive me for responding to everyone like this, but I’m hoping this will be my final word on the matter—after which I'll just let the "proper institutions do their jobs." 😁 Just kidding. 😛

The argument being made is that banned users haven't been this restricted anywhere else except on their own little corner of the internet—their specific niche where they can behave almost however they damn well please. And then, when they get called out, they act like, "Well, maybe there's a post somewhere else..." 🤷 But honestly, after reading everything, the most likely truth remains exactly what the Democratic Party presented—which is how I’ve interpreted it, anyway. I’m sure there are details I don’t know, and frankly, I don't need to know them. 🙂

The main issue here—the absolute core of the problem—is that the banned individuals simply refuse to follow the rules of the forum. Actually, it’s more than that; they don't give a damn about them. But hey, who actually reads the fine print, right? Everyone just clicks "next, next" in a rush to become some big-shot expert...

So, as long as you remain so convinced that anyone questioning this is just being "biased," and you maintain that you're completely innocent and were only banned due to some moderator's whim, nobody is going to believe you—except, of course, your fellow banned buddies and friends.
Your narrative—that this whole thing is just one moderator acting out of pure spite—simply doesn't hold water.

It’s pretty obvious that you don't take bans seriously if you immediately create clone accounts to keep doing the exact same thing. The point of a ban isn't to start a factory for clones; it's to prevent undesirable behavior from cluttering the forum and to give the banned person a chance to actually reflect and change. If someone creates a clone the very second they are banned, it’s clear they haven't given even a moment's thought to whether they bear any responsibility for their own situation.

Anyway, I just want to—with all due respect and purely out of goodwill—point out that you might benefit from a little self-reflection.

Since steelskipper5 brought it up, I remember times when I used to complain about moderators on PZK, which led to me being locked out or having posts deleted—I can't quite recall the specifics anymore. In my case, the moderator just quietly accepted the judgment of the person I was complaining about without making a huge scene. In your case, however, EVERY moderator knows who you are. So, is it really possible that every single one of them has a personal vendetta against you, or is it more likely that you're creating an immense amount of unnecessary work for them by constantly breaking the rules?

And this whole "you punished me instead of him" thing is honestly laughable... Let me give you a real-world example. Suppose a police officer pulls you over and evaluates (which is within their rights) that you are unfit to drive and suspends your license. What do you think would happen if you ordered a friend to show up in a different car, pull up right in front of the officer, hop in the driver's seat, and just keep driving? 🙂

Out of ten suspended licenses, maybe ten people manage to slide by. So, should the officer who actually caught you sit there whining, "Why aren't you chasing those other guys?" :confused. It makes no sense.

This forum is a virtual space for fun and games, but it isn't a Formula 1 track. People can definitely get "wrecked" by driving too fast here—this time, you were the ones driving recklessly, and who knows how many others you've sent to the virtual hospital or forced into virtual hard labor through your antics—deleting your posts and hunting down clones? This isn't just "fun and games" to everyone involved. Try to grasp that, and maybe then you can come back. 🙂

😂

Who's claiming what? The mods? The admins?

You're really getting on Gregory Garcia's nerves, aren't you? You're barely making an impact.
And you're basing half a page of text on nothing but "people are saying"???

If a mod or an admin tells you the sky is blue, man, you've gotta take it with a grain of salt
and verify it yourself, because the second someone turns black or purple on this forum,
you simply have to stay skeptical. 👍

By the way, Gregory Garcia actually made some valid points here before they were deleted—posts, entire threads—why was that? 🤷

Everyone seems to have their own little theory about everything—honestly, it doesn't really matter much.

Are we actually looking at realistic claims here? 😕 Well, looks like we have another joke teller in our midst.

Look, I think the fundamental issue here—and it’s a bit of a sticking point, really—is that whenever you get hit with a ban, or even just a warning or some content being wiped, there actually exists a functional way to appeal it. You can actually stand up and say, "Hey, wait a minute," and have your say.

So, if you’re going to walk around acting like you didn't get banned—or even given a warning, for that matter—and just carry yourself like you're some kind of untouchable legend who doesn't have to follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up... well, I mean, what am I even supposed to say to that? It’s just a bit much, don't you think? 🤷

Look, I don't think anyone actually believes that bans or red cards are handed out just to mess with people or play some kind of cruel prank—it’s really quite the opposite, isn't it? In my view, the whole point of those measures is to actually curb the trolling and prevent anyone from being harassed or picked on in the first place. It's about keeping things civil, I guess. 😉
