I'm looking to pick up a decent gaming rig—probably some used parts—since my budget is sitting right around $733. I stumbled upon this listing, but I've no clue if it's actually worth the asking price, especially since I still need to hunt down a power supply and a case.

Look, man, you could buy something brand new for that kind of cash and get a much better motherboard...

This 1600AF is basically just a rebranded R5 2600 (it’s the same Zen+ architecture on 12nm), so you're better off grabbing a superior motherboard click

Everything would be brand new with a full 3-year warranty. Honestly, browsing Craigslist was a total nightmare.

Quick question though, do you already have DDR4 RAM?

If you're on a tight budget, your best bet is actually going with an i3 10100f paired with an H410 motherboard plus $16716GB (2x8GB) of DDR4 RAM

I don't have any DDR4 RAM—so I guess I'm starting from scratch here.

Is $2,200 your total budget for the whole build? You aren't putting together a "solid gaming PC" for that kind of money. At best, you're looking at some old OEM machine from Best Buy or something similar that you slap a used GPU into.

That's actually not bad at all. If that RAM hits 3000 or 3200 MHz, it's even better... you just need to add a GPU, maybe an RX 570, an RX 580, or a GTX 1060. You'll still need a PSU and an SSD or a hard drive.

If they dropped the price by $100... $67 then we're talking. Especially if there's any kind of warranty left...
