I noticed nobody here has mentioned that they aired the first trailer for the movie during the recent Super Bowl: LINK.

Captain America trailer

image

After that Super Bowl spot dropped and we got those few quick teasers, we finally have the first real trailer for the upcoming superhero epic, Captain America: The First Avenger, out today.

This should be some sort of artistic display for Red Skull—the main villain. The link below shows him at some kind of control console...

With all these shots of Red Skull and HYDRA agents in specialized units, fans are starting to wonder—will there even be any Nazis in this movie?

image

I mean, the whole thing takes place during WWII, and honestly, WWII without Nazis is like Zagor without Chic.

But look, the filmmakers already confirmed that Nazis will definitely be in the picture. Red Skull is going to be a former SS officer, and HYDRA is actually just a specialized unit within the Nazi German army.

The trailer doesn't look half bad, but it’s such a bummer that you only get a glimpse of Red Skull's actual face for like a split second.

Surprise, surprise—from what I've heard, that red mask he wears isn't actually a mask at all. It's his real face, a side effect of mishandling an object of massive power; apparently, the "real face" is just a mask he wears in public to show what he looked like before the accident.

It’s definitely the cosmic cube.

Trailer & poster: Captain America

image

With less than a month to go before the massive superhero spectacle Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters, Marvel has finally kicked their marketing engine into high gear. Just a couple of days ago, they dropped a brand-new trailer and the official movie poster.

I guess I'll only sit through this movie because of Hugo Weaving; I'm not really much of a Captain America fan myself.

Growing up reading all those Marvel comics, I always saw Captain America as the glue—the brains holding together all these other superheroes who have way more raw power than he does...

He’s just Captain 😁 and honestly, as a kid, I always gravitated toward the Marvel heroes who weren't overpowered, like Daredevil, Punisher (who basically has none), and Captain America...

I always used to find Hulk annoying—not hate him, per se, but he just got on my nerves. I mean, damn, you can't kill the guy, and it's not even like he's fucking Superman.

Ah 🙂 it'll be a nice little piece of American propaganda with a tendency to rewrite history, but I can tolerate it—as long as it stays just a movie. 😁

Heh, back when I had my favorites, it was mostly Hulk, Superman, and Sentry 🙂—basically those guys who felt pretty much invincible 🙂. But honestly, I’ll probably still check this one out. It doesn't look half bad, and I've always thought the lead actor was decent, especially after seeing him alongside Statham in London and that other heroic flick, Fantastic Four.👍

I have only ever read a single comic featuring him, and frankly, I can't recall any of the details. Could someone please clarify who Captain America actually is, and explain the circumstances behind how he became a superhero?

I find the concept of the setting being rooted in the past quite compelling.

New clip and a bunch of stills

By the way, the Howling Commandos are easily the best part, especially Neal McDonough playing Dum Dum Dugan with those iconic Josip Jellacic mustaches and that totally wild Sir Oliver energy. 😬
