Frankenstein (2011)

"Mad Max 2" finally hit the torrent sites just a few days ago! 👍

I actually already grabbed it yesterday, so I'm planning on diving in sometime this week. I'll definitely let you guys know what I think once I've finished watching it. 😉

The first installment was absolute garbage, and I can only imagine how this one turns out. Deadly prison races... give me a break!

Man, I just finished watching this yesterday and I am totally blown away! 👍

The story is seriously awesome and the action is top-tier, though if I had to nitpick, the acting felt a little thin at times—but honestly, the pacing and all the chaos more than make up for it.

The plot itself is super well-constructed too, you know? It’s got a solid setup, a great middle, and a satisfying payoff at the end.
Now, I don't want my fellow action junkies getting the wrong idea and thinking this is some cinematic masterpiece like *The Godfather* or something, because it isn't, but since this is one of those movies heading straight to DVD, it’s actually really good. If you live for high-octane stunts, you definitely need to check this out. 👍

Seriously, Hannah Green2, maybe you should just hang up the action movie hat altogether, man, because this clearly isn't your vibe. 😉

When you sit down for an action flick, you're looking for thrills and excitement to keep you glued to the screen, right? Who cares about "realism" when you've got explosions happening? That's just how it works.

I mean, look at comedies—half the stuff they do isn't even remotely realistic, so what, should we all just stop watching funny movies now? 🤷 The whole point of action cinema is to lean into the over-the-top, larger-than-life stuff. If you're craving pure reality, why not just stick to documentaries? They're based on actual events, so they're as real as it gets. 👍

Pretty decent effort, I have to admit. Definitely an upgrade from the last one. The first half drags a bit too much with about thirty minutes of filler that doesn't matter, but the second half makes up for it.

Too bad they didn't get that woman who was in the first one with Statham 😁

I really dig how it ties back to the original movie, especially with the plot and the characters.

Probably just because this Mad Max: Fury Road takes place before the previous one. 😉

Honestly, even the first half of the movie actually held its own for me! It really wasn't bad at all, you know?
Honestly, I didn't feel like there was a single second of this movie that felt wasted or dragged out, you know? It’s like, isn't that just how a good story should work? You almost expect the second half to really kick things into high gear and deliver even more than the first part did, and honestly, if it doesn't follow that unwritten rule, then what's the point? To me, it hit all the right marks!
I honestly really dig how they handled the pacing in the first half of the movie, you know? Like, instead of just jumping straight into the madness, they actually take the time to show us what was going on and set the scene properly. It’s such a cool move that they didn't just rush into the big race right away; they let the tension build up through all that gritty fighting and chaos first. Isn't it way more satisfying when a film builds that kind of atmosphere before things finally kick off? I'm totally here for it.

So, here’s the deal with this movie: it’s actually a prequel, which means the whole plot takes place before everything went down in the first film, so that one starring Statham basically acts as the direct sequel to this one! Isn't that a wild way to structure a story?

Look, I’ll be the first to admit it—if that girl you're talking about was the one I had in mind, she was a total nightmare, and honestly? I absolutely hated her guts. I mean, seriously, what was even her deal? She was just such a massive pain in my ass... 😁 Don't go getting the wrong idea here, okay? I honestly think she killed it! I mean, if you actually find yourself hating a character that much, doesn't that just prove how incredible the acting was? Like, if an actor can make you feel that level of genuine animosity toward them, they’ve basically done their job perfectly, right? It's all about that raw talent! 👍

I was just talking about... Joan Allen I was actually comparing her to someone born back in '56, you know? Lauren Cohan Born in '82.

There’s zero explanation provided, and there's still this massive gap between those two movies. Honestly, they could have used a whole lineup of different drivers for Mad Max: Fury Road. 😉
If you happen to remember that first Death Race, the co-driver was Case, but this one is Katrina. They don't even bother explaining if it's supposed to be Coach, Goldberg, or whoever else—and by some stroke of luck, he isn't playing Trejo either. 😉)

The only characters that actually keep popping up are Lists and 14K.

Total waste of time. Just finished watching it today. I mean, sure, there’s plenty of action, the cast isn't even terrible, and you can tell the production value was high... but still. That main villainess—you know, the one from Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries—was just gross. Honestly, I thought the first movie was better, though this one wasn't a complete disaster either. If you live for mindless action, I guess it's a hit for you 🙂. Oh, and regarding that comparison between Joan Allen and the driver... there is absolutely zero connection there. Near the end, the villain (September Jones) says she’s going to call Joan Allen to be the manager (she even shows a photo), so it hasn't been that long, maybe a few years at most. I really don't get why people are trying to link those two, but whatever...

Has anyone else actually sat down and watched this movie yet? Seriously, I’ve been dying to know if anyone else caught it!
Honestly, if you ask me, this one is way better than something like The Expendables. Seriously, how can anyone even compare them?

Yeah... I caught all that after I finally watched it, haha. Hadn't actually seen the movie yet when I wrote that originally
