Hey everyone! My issue probably isn't as massive as most of the stories I see scrolling through here, but I figured I’d jump in anyway. I honestly can't remember the last time I posted anything on this forum, so if I’ve wandered into the wrong sub-thread, please just point me in the right direction. For years now, I’ve been dealing with chronic sinus issues, and while I’ve pretty much learned how to coexist with them, there is one persistent nuisance that stays with me. I was wondering if anyone else out there is in the same boat and how you manage that awkward sinus-related bad breath? It feels like it's always lurking in the background. I’m talking constant brushing, chewing gum like it's my job... but is there something specific you use that actually targets the sinuses? Maybe some nasal sprays or a particular trick to help dial down that scent? 🙂 Because at the end of the day, scrubbing my teeth feels like trying to clean a smudge on a window when the actual mess is coming from inside the house... so, any advice would be amazing!

My sister deals with this exact same issue all the time because of her chronic tonsillitis. I know sage tea helps her out—she uses it as a gargle to rinse and disinfect her throat. Honestly, I suspect your bad breath might be coming from your throat rather than your sinuses. Give that a shot. I don't have any better advice for you. 🙂

Pick up one of those sinus rinse kits from the pharmacy—the little spout things. You’ve just gotta be really persistent with it. I'd also suggest starting with some Orazone ear drops and making sure you apply them exactly right. For me, doing a 10 to 15-day course usually does the trick.

Yo, I’ve got a question that might tie into this... basically, about eighteen months ago when I was out skiing, I caught a nasty cold and ever since then, I've had this constant thick phlegm stuck in my throat that I have to hack up. It doesn't matter if I'm actually sick or not, or if it's boiling hot or freezing outside... I've noticed that whenever that happens, my breath smells bad too, and it's driving me crazy. Since then, I've dealt with maybe six or seven brutal throat infections where I couldn't even swallow for two days unless I powered through the pain—it felt like absolute hell.

Anyway, does anyone know what the deal is and how I fix it? Is this some kind of sinus issue?

I tried that rinse thing, but it didn't do anything for me at all, even though I deal with chronic sinusitis and allergies constantly.
What exactly are those ear drops for, if you don't mind explaining? My ears have been hurting quite a bit lately, and my doctor mentioned that some of my canals seem a little constricted, so she told me I should probably stay on top of it.
