I need to get a routine procedure done—nothing major, really—but I’m stuck in this dilemma: do I go private or just wait it out at the VA hospital? The only thing stopping me from booking a private specialist right now is the price tag; they're asking about $333, which feels like a massive overkill for such a minor intervention. That said, I know exactly what I'm signing up for if I choose the government route—months of waiting around just to finally see a doctor. There’s also the question of expertise—is it even a fair comparison? I have this nagging feeling that a doctor at a major state hospital has handled way more cases like this than some specialist at a boutique private clinic... am I totally off base here? When you weigh the cost against the experience, who should I actually trust? Should I go private or stick with the public system?

There’s a massive chance this private guy actually cut his teeth—or maybe he’s still doing it even now—working his way up through some big state-run institution, because let’s be real, there's no way he would’ve gained enough actual grit or expertise to make it as a private player without that kind of foundation first...
