Jerry Gray5= command ultra north side .... since I'm only active on one subforum, everyone will know it's me if that's an issue.

The rule states that new usernames can only consist of letters, numbers, and spaces. On the other hand, this isn't even much of a nickname change, and it would definitely look a lot cleaner. I really don't know. Why don't you check with hollowtrucker77 and see what they decide?

I first signed up for this forum back on July 12, 2007, and I was somewhat active until about the end of summer 2009... Since then, I've managed to put up fewer than 10 ( I figured it might be time to jump back in since I have a bit too much free time on my hands lately, and I noticed some pretty interesting discussions happening here. So, I was wondering if it might be possible—and I realize this is a big ask, especially since nobody would really notice the change anyway—to switch my username over to Paul Kern6 - pretty sure it's available.
I'm aware of the rules; I've read through them. But maybe an exception could be made just this once, given that it wouldn't really affect anything or reveal my old identity.

If you made an exception for one person, you'd have to do it for everyone else, which just wouldn't be fair. So, probably not.
That said, nothing is stopping you from just starting a brand new account with whatever name you want.

Is there any way I can just go by Gary Mitchell3 without the extra symbols? I originally signed up as Gary Mitchell3, but I typed in the wrong email address, so I never actually confirmed that first registration.

It isn't quite that simple because there's already a member using that handle, even if the account hasn't been verified yet. Since both accounts belong to you, though, you should probably reach out to hollowtrucker77 and explain the situation, as they might be able to help you sort it all out.

I went ahead and activated the account without the plus sign and triggered a password reset email, but now I’m starting to worry that I've hit a dead end and there isn't much else I can actually do about it

Thanks so much! I finally got that email—I was actually setting up my account on the forum at the exact same time, and since I hadn't activated the email yet, it hadn't shown up. Is there a way for me to verify my identity through that email address, or perhaps some other method, so we can clear that extra bit from the profile here?
