It’s such a drag that you can't just fully overhaul your username whenever you feel like it. Honestly, my current handle feels totally lame—it doesn't even remotely reflect who I actually am... what a joke.

I know people have said otherwise, but I’ve got a huge favor to ask regarding my username, "August." Honestly, I really want to close a chapter on a certain part of my life, and being online is definitely part of that whole thing.
Right now, there isn't any option in my settings to actually change it.
Thanks a million!

Unfortunately, that isn't an option. You're going to have to stick to the guidelines laid out in the original post and pick a nickname that actually resembles your current one.

No biggie, thanks anyway! Maybe it's just a sign from the universe.

Can we get a name change for Spirit?
Spirit is basically just another word for Jacob Cooper5...

From what I can gather, they're basically saying the same thing, right!?

Let’s not get bogged down in semantics here. What you linked are just synonyms for speech sounds, which honestly has nothing to do with what we're discussing. I’m genuinely surprised you didn't opt for something like "diphthong," "consonant," or even "sibilant" 😉
. Come up with a new handle that actually follows the nickname change guidelines.

My bad, I actually went back and read it. Since I did, can I at least get the username JyotiAmgeFan? That used to be my handle on here, but I was using an old email address I don't even use anymore. If it's not a huge deal, could you switch it?

Timothy Jackson2 said:This is the official thread where you can request a change to your username.

A few quick notes:
  1. Requests such as a change from Mark to John or something similar are not allowed. The only exception for a total nickname overhaul is for profiles with fewer than 50 posts. Minor corrections that are
    actually
  2. permitted include adjusting capitalization or any slight tweak that does not change the core meaning of your handle. It’s important that your identity remains recognizable. For example:
    • to timothy jackson2 or timmy. New nicknames are restricted strictly to letters and spaces. Adding any other symbols isn't allowed (like dashes, dots, asterisks, etc.).
*A period is only okay if it serves as an initial, provided the period isn't the only thing separating the requested name from the current one

**Additionally, please don't ask for a period if your entire handle or most of it would consist solely of initials
  3. Please do not reach out if you have already changed your nickname once before.
Before submitting a formal request to change your name, please give this a read as well:
    About Usernames (General Recommendations)
  4. Before asking for a specific name, make sure it isn't already taken. You can check this by clicking on the Member List. The forum
    does not
  5. differentiate between uppercase and lowercase letters in usernames. So, for instance, you can't request
  6. Blabla if there is already a user named
    • or something similar. Please be patient while we process your request. Don't expect it to be handled instantly—sometimes it might take a couple of weeks to get sorted out... Don't forget that changing your nickname also changes your login credentials. So, if your old username was meerko and your new one is
      mirko

، when you log in, you will enter
  7. mirko
as your username along with your password.
    • Once I approve the change—meaning your request meets all the rules mentioned above—you should send a private message to our administrator Nici and make sure to include a link to the post where the change was approved. *You can grab the direct link to any post by clicking the number (the link) in the top right corner of the post itself. Please refrain from posting things like "I don't like my name, can you change it to something else?". Please provide
      one

    specific
  8. and single suggestion that follows the guidelines listed above. In cases where the name you want is taken, but that user hasn't logged in for years and has very few (or zero) posts, there is a possibility we might approve your request anyway. The administration will decide whether or not to grant such exceptions. The admin team is not obligated
to provide a detailed explanation for why a request was accepted or denied.
  9. How to check if a name is available: 1. Click on Member List at the top of the forum page.
    2. Once there, look for the search tool on the right side. Click it, type your desired name into the field, and hit Search.

  10. We hope everything is clear and that we can keep this thread running smoothly without too many hiccups...

Note: The administration reserves the right to accept or deny any nickname correction request, even if it falls outside these specific rules.

That's not possible. Just send me a private message with the email address you used when you first registered that handle and the new email you want to switch to, and I'll get the change processed for you.

Is it possible for me to claim Geronimo...? Nik is technically taken, but he’s been completely MIA lately and hasn't posted in ages...

Failing to read the opening post with any degree of actual comprehension will henceforth result in this being bolded from the first post

Hello,
I’d like to request a name change to Mina777. I checked via search and it looks like nobody is using it. I didn't think much about my handle a few years ago, but now I'd really prefer not to use my actual name. 😁

Sure, just reach out to Nice.

I originally signed up back in 2014... I was just a kid then, honestly, and I didn't give a second thought to how much personal info I was handing over. Now, given everything regarding GDPR, I’d really appreciate it if my username could be changed. My current one is sandro1994. If that's already taken, maybe sandro31415 would work instead.

Also, feel free to dig through my old posts; I haven't posted anything particularly idiotic that I'd be embarrassed by. It's really just about privacy—I don't want my handle to act as a direct link to my identity.

1) There really isn't any need to explain why you're switching to a new username
2) Since you're going through the trouble of changing it anyway, why not try to come up with something actually creative? You haven't posted enough to be stuck with one identity; you have plenty of room to pick something unique and original
3) Ultimately, the responsibility lies with you to double-check whether the handle you want is already taken before making the request
