Don't talk nonsense. Just remember how things went for Fisichella when he stepped into that Force India seat as a sub for Massa; Kimi absolutely tore him apart as if they weren't even driving the same cars.

Honestly, I think this race by Russell might actually hurt Hamilton more than it hurts Valtteri Bottas. Look, we all know Bottas isn't exactly at his peak anymore, but now it's blindingly obvious how easy it is for Hamilton to look like a record-breaker when he's sitting in a car like this.

William Gomez5 said:Mercedes gets hit with a $22k fine, but George Russell keeps his pointsQuote : this was caused by a radio communications technical issue wherein The piti wall ’ failed to tell the crew that Car 63 was heading into the pits before Car 77. Because the driver of Car 63 talked over the radio at the exact same time, the crew never heard the instruction. This led to the front tires of Car 77 accidentally rolling right over Car 63 since they were double-stacked in the box.
Look, this is a straight-up violation of the rulebook. Usually, you're looking at a heavy sporting penalty or even a full-on Disqualification. But, they decided to cut them some slack here because of some extra complicating factors beyond just that radio glitch.

Fisichella is a driver of exceptional talent who simply hasn't had the cards fall his way throughout his career.
Your grasp on motorsport seems a bit superficial; it isn't just him—plenty of drivers have ended up worse off than they deserved due to pure chance.

In my opinion, getting a top 10 result in that car is a realistic goal for any solid driver like Sergio Perez or Nico Hulkenberg...
But honestly, even if they pulled Fernando Alonso out of retirement right now, I wouldn't expect much more from him given the situation...
A podium is already a massive stretch for almost everyone, and for an absolute top driver in peak form, maybe 3rd place is the limit (if someone dropped Lewis Hamilton into that car—he'd be dealing with a totally unfamiliar machine and crew, so I wouldn't expect miracles)...
Realistically, even giving Max Verstappen or Valtteri Bottas a shot is a huge ask considering how chaotic it would be to suddenly throw them into a new car and team.
But based on the car itself, a top finish for Perez, Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, or Daniel Ricciardo is technically possible, even if it's incredibly tough—and you’d still need to be an elite driver to pull it off.
Expecting a win or even 2nd place is just pure fantasy for anyone...
Expecting Bottas to win when he's actually in his element is totally unrealistic.
And expecting Max? Forget it. Honestly, I don't think even Bottas could beat him.

Anyone else in his position would probably be breaking down, pointing fingers, and whining about everything... and I won't even get into names right now... 🙂
I truly wish him nothing but the best in his career; he absolutely deserves to be behind the wheel of a top-tier car...

- Russell will probably get the DQ because he used up one extra set of tires (mostly because they put him on Bottas's)
- Charles gets a Charles Three Place grid penalty for next week

Having immense talent isn't the same thing as being an elite driver.
Most of these guys are incredibly talented. If they weren't, they wouldn't even be able to hold a spot in the circus. I'm talking about the top-tier drivers, obviously.
Even though I consider him a top-tier driver, I wouldn't bet on him making the podium. If you're asking me about Max Verstappen, though? I'd take that bet any day. For him, standing on that podium is just part of his daily routine.

Max has become an expert on hitting walls. 😉
